Lo Now High in the Counts

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Yun Lo opened the preflop betting with a 20,000 raise from early position and when the action passed to Daryl Katz in middle position, Katz three-bet to 45,000. Lo called and the pair shared a {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop.

Lo moved all in for 111,500 and Katz made the call. Lo showed {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} for top pair, Katz the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for a lesser pair. The {8-Diamonds} turn and {6-Hearts} river completed the board and left Katz nursing a short stack.

O'Donoghue Shoves on Perrone

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Brian O'Donoghue opened to 16,000 in the cutoff and Michael Perrone called from the button.

The {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} flop contained more spades than a gravedigger's shed, but would it be the flop that killed off the tournament life of one of these players? O'Donoghue fired a continuation bet of 21,000 only to see that bet matched and raised by an additional 46,000. O'Donoghue then moved all in and Perrone wasn't prepared to pay that price and he folded.

MacPhee Trebles Up

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Kevin MacPhee, still reeling from the hand that decimated his stack, moved all in for 21,000 from under the gun. Erica Lindgren called from the next seat over and Thomas Lutz raised to 40,000 a couple of seats over. Lindgren called and the dealer put the first three community cards into view.

Flop: {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} - Lindgren checked, Lutz bet and Lindgren folded.

MacPhee: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Lutz: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

MacPhee was ahead with his pair of eights and that's the way it stayed as the {10-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river completed the board.

Crane Runs Into Queens

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Bonneau opened to 16,000 from middle position only to see the small blind shove and RusselL Crane to re-shove over the top of that. Bonneau folded, leaving Crane's {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} to fight it out with {Q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Crane lost this fight as the board ran {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Crane still has almost 200,000 chips, though.

MacPhee Left With Dust

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

Kevin MacPhee has just lost the majority of his stack in a hand with Brian O'Donoghue.

There was already 68,000 chips in the middle by the time the {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop came into view. MacPhee was in early position and O'Donoghue on the button. MacPhee was in the tank and the next thing we knew, MacPhee had check-shoved, was called and the cards were on their backs and the players were all in.

When the stacks were counted, MacPhee had O'Donoghue covered by only 22,000 chips, or three big blinds.

MacPhee: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
O'Donoghue: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

MacPhee needed to spike a six to win the hand, otherwise he faced the prospect of handing over almost all of his stack. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {8-Clubs}, gifting O'Donoghue the hand and the huge pot.

Kevin MacPheeMisplayed 6s terribly. Thought the button 3bettor was deeper so I peeled chk/shoved T52dd instead of 4bet shoving 30 bbs eff & T9s got me.

Boatman Busts One

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Daryl Katz opened to 17,500 from the button and found callers in the shape of Barny Boatman in the small blind and the gentleman in the big blind.

The trio shared a {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}]{A-Hearts} flop. Boatman bet 32,000 and the big blind called off his last 12,000. Katz folded and the cards were revealed.

Boatman had flopped two pair with his {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}, while his opponent's {K-Spades}{3-Clubs} needed to catch a jack to stay in the game. That jack never appeared on the {2-Hearts} turn or {6-Clubs} river and we are down to 47 here in Event #49.
