Fardad Spikes the River to Double Through Steven

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

In the last hand before the dinner break, Steve Gross opened for 40,000 from early position only to have Farshad Fardad three-bet to 115,000. Chip leader Brandon Steven then four-bet to 267,000 from the big blind, Gross folded and Fardad moved all in for 910,000. Steven Made a quick call and was in a dominant spot.

Fardad: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Steven: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Steven was primed to extend his chip lead quite considerably, and that seemed likely through the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop and {6-Spades} turn. Fardad needed an eight or a spade on the river to stay alive, and wouldn't you know it, the {8-Hearts} peeled off and Steven took a hit prior to leaving for dinner.

Time for the Dinner Break

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

It's time for the 75-minute dinner break here in Event #47: $111,111 One Drop High Rollers No-Limit Hold'em. We'll have full counts for you shortly. Here's a look at the highlights from the past two hours of play:

Zugwat Doubles on Last Hand Before Dinner

Nível 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Steven Silverman
Steven Silverman

Jason Mo raised to 44,000 in early position, Hyoung Chae called on his direct left, and Steven "Zugwat" Silverman moved all in for 375,000 near the button. The action folded back to Mo, who re-shoved having both players covered, and Chae went deep into the tank.

While he was tanking, several players were walking out of the area to goto break, and Chae stopped Andrew Lichtenberger. He showed Lichtenberger his hand, but Lichtenberger knew he couldn't say anything, so he just laughed. Chae laughed as well, then folded his hand.

Mo: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Silverman: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"Same hand," Chae said, motioning towards Mo's hand.

Silverman held as the board rolled out {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, doubling to 838,000 chips.

Leading the Flop

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Anthony "End Boss" Gregg raised to 50,000 from under the gun, and Jeremy Ausmus tanked for a bit before defending his big blind. The flop fell {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, and Ausmus opted to lead out for 50,000. Gregg raised, making it 145,000 to go, and Ausmus folded.

"Is It On Me?"

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Andreas Eiler open-shoved for around 290,000 from middle position, and the action folded to George Abdallah in the big blind.

"Is it on me?" Abdallah asked the dealer, who nodded. "I call."

He showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, which dominated Eiler's {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and the board ran out {6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Eiler was eliminated, while Abdallah now has 775,000 chips.

"That is Usually a Good Sign"

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Haralabos Voulgaris opened for 58,000 from middle position and received a call from Gus Hansen on the button. Vivek Rajkumar came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Rajkumar checked, Voulgaris continued for 78,000 and Hansen raised to 182,000. Rajkumar got out of the way and Voulgaris took his time before announcing that he was all in for 463,000 more. Hansen seemed perplexed and said as much.

"I'm confused," he admitted. "That's usually a good sign."

The weight of the decision was visible on Hansen's face, and he thought for over three minutes before dropping in a call with the {q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. "Any paint will do," Hansen said upon discovering Voulgaris held the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, though a jack wouldn't do him any good.

The {3-Spades} turn paired the board and actually took away more than half of Hansen's outs as a king would no longer be good. That meant he needed a third queen on the river, but it wasn't in the cards as the {6-Spades} peeled off.

The Incredible Double of Awesome Ausmus

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Steve Gross opened for 50,000 in early position and cleared the field all the way to Jeremy Ausmus. The October Niner proceeded to move all in for 465,000 total and Gross made a rather quick call.

Gross: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Ausmus: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Ausmus was well out in front and the {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop gave him a hammerlock on the hand with top pair and a flush redraw. The {4-Hearts} turn actually completed that flush and left Gross drawing dead. After the {7-Diamonds} was put out on the river for good measure, Ausmus was pushed the pot and chipped up to nearly a million.
