Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Matt Glantz doubles twice
Matt Glantz doubles twice

Shaun Deeb was on the button, and raised to 52,000. Igor Kurganov three-bet to 136,000 from the small blind, Deeb called, and the flop fell {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Kurganov led out for 132,000, Deeb called, and the turn was the {j-Clubs}. Both players checked.

A repeat five - the {5-Diamonds} - completed the board, and Kurganov fired out another 250,000 or so. Deeb called.

Kurganov showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} for queens and fives, but they were no good against Deeb's {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for trip fives.

A few hands later, Matt Glantz was all in and at risk preflop against Deeb holding {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}. It was a race as Deeb showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, and Glantz survived when the flop, turn, and river came {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

The fireworks continued not too long after that hand, and Kurganov was all in against Deeb. This time it was Kurganov with the {a-}{k-} and Deeb had {a-}{a-}. The aces held, and Kurganov hit the rail.

And finally, Deeb and Glantz played yet another all-in pot. We're unclear of the details, but Glantz doubled yet again.

Bohn vs. Esfandiari

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Minnesota's Blake Bohn opened for 51,000 from middle position only to have Antonio Esfandiari three-bet to 105,000 from the button. The blinds both folded, Bohn called and the flop fell {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Bohn was first to act and checked, which opened the door for Esfandiari to bet 84,000. Bohn then sprung to life with a check-raise to 210,000 and won the pot after "The Magician" folded.

End of the Road for Gus Hansen

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen wasn't able to rebound from the huge loss he took to Haralabos Voulgaris a short while ago. The Great Dane was just eliminated after committing the last of his chips preflop with {A-Clubs}{4-Spades} from early position. Action folded over to Andrew Lichtenberger, who called with {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} from the big blind, and Lichtenberger paired up on the river to send Hansen to the rail. We're waiting to see who fills Hansen's seat on the feature table, so stay tuned.

One of the Best

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Brandon Steven raised to 57,000 out of the small blind, Jeremy Ausmus defended from the big blind, and the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Steven fired out another 57,000, Ausmus called, and both players knuckled when the {3-Spades} turned.

The {8-Diamonds} completed the board, and Steven tossed out 127,000. Ausmus sat quietly, riffling chips with his right hand while gripping his cards firmly with his left. He studied the board and the pot, and looked over at his neighbor once or twice before releasing his hand into the muck.

The two then had a brief exchange.

"You're one of the best players I know," Steven told him. "I knew if you called, then I was in trouble. You don't make wrong decisions."

"Half the room is better than me," Ausmus replied, humbly. "Half of this table, actually."

Steven laughed.

"I'm serious," the Octo-Niner told him, chuckling as well.

Timoshenko from the Small Blind

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Antonio Esfandiari opened for 52,000 from the cutoff and Richard Fullerton called from the button. Yevgeniy Timoshenko then three-bet to 156,000 from the small blind, Esfandiari folded and Fullerton thought long and hard before making the call.

When the flop came down {8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Timoshenko led out for 166,000 and Fullerton folded. It wasn't much of a hand but gave us a good excuse to update you on both players.

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton opened for 55,000 from the hijack and Tobias Reinkemeier defended from the big blind. The {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} flop saw Reinkemeier check and Sexton bet 75,000. The German then woke up with a check-raise to 160,000, but Sexton was not to be outdone and three-bet all in. Reinkemeier folded.

Deeb Busts Silverman

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Steven Silverman
Steven Silverman

Three players took a flop of {4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, including Hyoung Chae, Steven Silverman, and Shaun Deeb. The action checked to Deeb, who fired out 71,000, and Chae folded. When he did, his cards flashed, and the dealer turned them over. He had {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

Silverman called, and both Deeb and Silverman checked on the turn ({8-Hearts}). The {10-Clubs} completed the board, Silverman checked again, and Deeb moved all in for around 500,000. Silverman tank-called with {k-}{8-} for two pair, but he hit the rail when Deeb tabled {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered straight.

Nice Call by Bohn

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Joe Kuether in the small blind and he limped, which prompted Blake Bohn to check his option from the big.

After the flop fell {k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Kuether bet 26,000, Bohn called and the {9-Clubs} turned. Kuether bet again, this time 54,000, and again Bohn called. When the {A-Spades} completed the board on the river, Kuether put out 90,000 and Bohn thought for a brief moment before calling. Kuether tabled the {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for not much of anything, and Bohn rolled over the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a pair and the win.

Mo Can't Beat the Nuts

Nível 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Jason Mo raised to 53,000 from early position, Matt Glantz three-bet to 120,000 on the button, and Mo called. Mo check-called another 110,000 on a flop of {5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and the turn was the {10-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board, Mo check-called one more bet worth 425,000, and Glantz showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for the nuts.

Mo mucked.
