Tolokno Tangles With Ngu

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Konstantin Tolokno raised to 4,500 from under the gun and found a call from the player on the button. Jessica Ngu reraised to 9,500 from the small blind and both Tolokno and the button came along.

Ngu continued for 10,700 on the {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop. Tolokno called and the player on the button folded.

Ngu fired again for 13,500 on the {9-Spades} turn and Tolokno took a bit more time before he called the bet.

Ngu kept control by leading for 23,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Tolokno went into the tank and wrestled with the decision. At one point, he took his chip off his cards and looked as if he might fold but ended up making the call in the end. Ngu said something about sevens but held her cards over the muck. When Tolokno tabled {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Ngu released her cards, leaving herself with a short stack.

Clements Eliminated in Bizarre Hand

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Scott Clements
Scott Clements

We walked up to Scott Clement's table to see that he was all in on a flop of {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. His shove was for 27,100, and he was up against two players. His first opponent quickly called, and his second opponent was already in the tank when we arrived. He ended up thinking for at least four minutes while we were there, and the clock was eventually called. Almost as soon as the floor arrived, he announced all in. The first opponent asked for a count, and once he found out it was 117,000, he open folded {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Clements: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Clements was in terrible shape as his top pair ran straight into the middle set of his opponent. The {4-Clubs} on the turn ended it, and the meaningless river was the {6-Diamonds}. After the hand, some of the players spoke up, wondering why he took that long to try and get a call from his opponent. Regardless, the big story is Clements being eliminated two from the money.

Habib Dabbagh Bubbles in Gut Wrenching Fashion

Nível 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Habib Dabbagh was in the big blind for 2,400 of his 2,900 chips on the first hand of play. Will Jaffe raised it up in early position to 5,500, and it folded around to Dabbagh in the big blind. He peeked down at his cards, and clearly wasn't thrilled with what he saw. He began to tank, and started playing around with his cards. On several occasions, it looked like he was starting to fold his hand, but every time, he pulled it back. After about two minutes of deliberation, he dropped his final 500 chip in.

Dabbagh: {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Jaffe: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Dabbagh was drawing very live, and short of pairing the flop, it couldn't have come much better, as it brought the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, giving Dabbagh a diamond draw. It was at this point that the floor saw the flop, and told the dealer to hold up for the rest of the hands to finish. At the WSOP, if there is an all in and a call on the bubble, the dealer is supposed to hold up for all other action to finish, so that the rest of the players don't see that someone may have busted. So for about two or three minutes, Dabbagh was stuck hoping that a five, two, or diamond would come.

Finally, the dealer continued dealing out the board.

Turn: {6-Hearts}

It was ever so close to giving Dabbagh the winning hand, but he was still behind and needing a card.

River: {10-Spades}

Dabbagh stood motionless at the site of the board, then with a devastated look on his face, slowly walked away from the table. No one else had busted, meaning that he was the last player eliminated before the money. He spent the next five minutes at a nearby empty table with his head in his hands, wondering what could have been, before slowly exiting the Amazon room.

Lew Is Eliminated

Randy Lew (From Day 1)
Randy Lew (From Day 1)

A player raised to 5,100 from under the gun and Randy Lew answered by moving all in. His opponent called and when the hands were tabled, Lew was behind and looking for a seven.

Lew: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
UTG: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and provided some hope and a few more outs for Lew. However, the {10-Hearts} turn and {5-Hearts} river did not improve Lew's hand and he was eliminated from the tournament in 113th place, just inside the money.
