A Well-Timed Bluff Gets Cada to Fold

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

We found Joe Cada in a hand on a flop of {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. His opponents checked to him as he bet 2,300 into a 5,000 chip pot. One opponent called and they saw a turn of the {4-Spades}. Cada's opponent fired out 3,800 and Cada called. The river came the {5-Diamonds} and Cada's opponent pushed all in. Cada took a minute before folding. Cada did however get his opponent to show his hand- the {q-Spades}{9-Spades} -for a bluff that sent Cada down to 37,000.

Turner Chops; Enjoys Comfortable Stack

Nível 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jon "PearlJammer" Turner was facing an all in raise of 5,000 on a board of {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Turner tanked before calling and he showed the {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} but his opponent held the second nut straight with the {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Turner was ready to throw his hand in expecting to lose but the river saved him by throwing the {4-Clubs} giving both players a straight. Turner took the chop and has a comfortable stack of 40,000.

Shane Eliminates Frankenberger

Nível 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Andy Frankenberger shoved his remaining 3,850 from under the gun and Brandon Shane called from the button. When the hands were tabled, Shane dominated with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} against Frankenberger's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The board of {4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} did not help Frankenberger and he was eliminated.

Hellmuth Doesn't Bluff

Nível 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Phil Hellmuth opened the cutoff to 800 and it folded to the small blind who snap-raised to 1,600. It folded back to Hellmuth who let out a dramatic "Wow".

Eventually he called and the flop brought {3-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Hellmuth's opponent continued for 950 and the 13-time WSOP champion flat called. The {9-Spades} turned and two checks prompted the board to complete with the {7-Clubs}.

It was checked to Hellmuth once more and he fired 1,950.

"Good bluff," his opponent lamented.

"You really think I'd try to bluff you?" said Hellmuth, tabling {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} in the process for a flopped two pair. He was all smiles as he dragged in the pot that boosted his stack to about 42,000.

We caught up to a board reading {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} where Naoya Kihara's opponent was assembling a bet in a 5,000 chip pot. He brought out 3,500 which was half of Kihara's remaining chips. Kihara insta-called and his opponent tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a full house. Kihara mucked and he is down to his last 3,500.
