Blumenthal Takes One from McEvoy

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

We caught up to the action on fourth street, as 1983 Main Event-winner Tom McEvoy bet out showing {4-}{6-}. Eddie Blumenthal called with {2-}{q-}. On fifth street, McEvoy paired his four, and Blumenthal received a {5-}. Blumenthal bet out, and McEvoy called. Blumenthal bet out again on sixth street after being dealt a {9-}. McEvoy, who'd also received a {9-}, thought for a moment before folding.

After hand, McEvoy has 11,200 in his stack, and Blumenthal is up to 9,500.

Bonomo Picks Up Several Bets

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

We caught up to action on third street with Justin Bonomo completing with his {6-} showing. He was called by one player who had a {4-} showing.

On fourth street Bonomo called with a {10-} while his opponent had bet with a {2-}. That action repeated it self on fifth street when Bonomo picked up a {2-} and his opponent drew a {A-}.

On sixth street Bonomo check called a bet after he drew a {Q-} and his opponent drew a {K-}.

Bonomo checked dark on seventh street and his opponent checked. Bonomo showed {7-}{3-}{4-} for a seven-six low. His opponent could only show {9-}{6-}{q-} for nine-six low and Bonomo was pushed the pot.

Ivey Busts

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

On third street, a severely short-stacked Phil Ivey was all in for his last 800 against Tony Green and one other player. Green was all in for his last 900. All three players had an {8-} up on third street, but when the cards had been dealt, the players showed the following:

Ivey: {8-}{a-}{5-}{k-}{j-}{4-}{9-}
Green: {8-}{2-}{5-}{5-}{9-}{3-}{6-}
Opponent: {8-}{2-}{4-}{k-}{6-}{2-}{7-}

Ivey ended up with a ninety-eight, Green had an eighty-six, and the third player ended up with an eighty-seven. Green won both the main pot and the side pot, and Ivey was eliminated from the tournament.

Here's a partial list of other players who, along with Ivey, have been eliminated:

Bach Sends One Home

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
David Bach
David Bach

After one player was forced to bring in with the {K-Hearts}, David Bach completed with a {3-}. He was called by a player with an {8-} before a player with a {6-} raised. Bach called as did the other player.

On fourth street Bach was dealt an {8-} and he bet it when it was checked to him. The preflop caller was dealt a {2-} and the preflop reraiser was dealt a {9-}.

Fifth street came and Bach was dealt a {j-}. The preflop caller was dealt a {q-} and the preflop reraiser was dealt an {a-}. The reraiser opened with a bet. Bach made it two bets. The preflop caller called again, and the reraiser called all in for his last 700 chips.

Sixth street came a {K-} for Bach, an {A-} for the caller, and a {q-} for the all in. Bach and the caller checked.

Seventh street was dealt face down and Bach bet, which caused the preflop caller to fold.

"I had aces up," the preflop caller told Bach.

"Eight," Back said showing {7-}{5-}{2-}. "I thought the ace might've paired you."

The player who was all in mucked his hand angrily, throwing it down on the table as he packed his things and got up. Bach just quietly scooped the pot.

Bloch Busts Ho and Cripples Chen

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Andy Bloch {6-}{7-}{4-} / {a-}{8-}{8-}{10-}
Maria Ho: {6-}{a-}{5-} / {7-}{9-}{8-}{q-}
Bill Chen: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {5-}{3-}{k-}{5-}

Maria Ho completed on third street showing a {7-}, Andy Bloch called with an {a-}, and the Bill Chen raised with {5-}. Ho and Bloch both called. On fourth street, Bill Chen bet out, and both players called.

Then on fifth street, Maria Ho had the low board. She and Bloch both checked, then Chen bet out. Ho tried to check-raise all in for 1,700, but a full raise was only 1,600. So Ho made it two bets, Bloch called, and Chen raised to 2,400. Ho called all in for 1,700 total, and Bloch called the full three bets.

With Ho all in, Chen had the low board on sixth street even though he paired his five, and he check-called Bloch's bet. Bloch bet again on the river, but this time Chen slid his cards to the dealer.

Bloch showed 8-7-6-4-A, just barely enough to beat Ho's 8-7-6-5-A. Ho has been eliminated from the tournament, and Chen is severely short-stacked. Bloch, on the other hand, now sits with 15,500.

Liu Out

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

J.J. Liu was all in against another short stacked player at her table on third street. Liu was showed her {7-}{3-}{2-} against her opponents {6-}{4-}{3-}.

The cards came out as follows:

Liu: {2-}{3-}/{7-}{5-}{6-}{5-}{q-}
Opponent: {3-}{4-}/{6-}{7-}{8-}{10-}{2-}

By seventh street Liu was holding a seven-six-five low. Unfortunately for her, her opponent had made a seven-six-four low.

Liu smiled, laughed it off, and wished luck to all her opponents before exiting the room.
