Plenty of Extras Being Given Away At This Year's WSOP

Nível 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

The buzz inside the walls of the Rio extends beyond just the tournaments on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule. Online poker in Nevada is a very, very hot topic right now, and WSOP.com is making a lot of noise.

While the site has yet to launch, you can head to the Lambada Room of the Rio or look for one of the beautiful and friendly WSOP.com ladies walking the hallways to sign up for a free, personal WSOP.com online poker account. This is a great way to get a jump on the site's registration, and plenty of people have already taken this opportunity.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In total, $182,333 in WSOP seats, including a seat to the WSOP Main Event, are being given away during this one-of-a-kind WSOP.com promotion.

In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Phil Galfond Drops an Early Pot

Nível 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

We saw Phil Galfond open for 550 from the button, and call a reraise to 1,025 by an opponent in the small blind.

When the flop of {4-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} hit the board, the player led out with a bet of 800, which Galfond called. On the {5-Hearts} turn, Galfond again flatted his opponent's bet, this time for 2,250, and the {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Both players opted to check, and Galfond's hand went into the muck when he saw the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} tabled.

O'Brien Can't Bluff It

Nível 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

On the final board of {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, Dan O'Brien was last to act in a group of four players. The first player checked, the next player fired a bet of 2,100, the third player called, and then O'Brien raised to 8,500. The first player folded, and the original bettor followed suit, but the third player made the call.

O'Brien turned up the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for just queen high, and his opponent showed the {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for two pair, kings and fours. O'Brien's hand was mucked, and he dropped back to 37,000 in chips.

Joe Hachem (Seen Here Playing an Earlier WSOP Event) is Feeling Right at Home Here at the Rio
Joe Hachem (Seen Here Playing an Earlier WSOP Event) is Feeling Right at Home Here at the Rio

Joe Hachem accomplished every poker player's ultimate dream under this very roof. While the final two days of his 2005 Main Event championship were held at Binion's Horseshoe Casino, he played his way there through nearly a week of grueling competition right here at the Rio.

Back again to play against on the WSOP's most skilled fields, Hachem is glad to be home.

We saw a crowd develop around the affable Aussie's table, and we found Hachem all in for his last 18,250 holding {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

His unfortunate opponent had been coolered with his {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, and when the final board ran out {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, the sugar was passed to Hachem yet again.

Kenney Doubles Through Griffin

Nível 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

After an under-the-gun raise to 500, Bryn Kenney three-bet on the button to 1,225. Ashton Griffin four-bet from the big blind to 3,100, and pay folded back over to Kenney. He reraised to 5,100, then Griffin announced that he was all in. Griffin had Kenney covered, and Kenney made the call to put himself at risk for 19,425.

Kenney tabled the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and was dominating the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} that Griffin held. Kenney's kings held on the {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} runout, and he doubled to 40,000 in chips.

Belgian Busted Bluffing

Davidi Kitai Here on Day 1
Davidi Kitai Here on Day 1

We just saw Belgian-born poker pro Davidi Kitai run an audacious bluff that happened to backfire.

Before the flop, a player in early position opened for 500, and Kitai called from the small blind. When the flop came {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, The player continued for a bet of 850 after the action was checked to him, and Kitai came along to see the {9-Diamonds} fall on the turn.

Both players tapped the table on the turn, and when the {Q-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Kitai led out for a bet of roughly 2,400. His opponent snap-called however, and Kitai was forced to turn over his {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for pure air. His opponent took the pot with {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and Kitai dropped a decent pot despite his bold attempt to steal the pot without even a pair to his name.
