We arrived at the table to find a player all in and at risk holding against Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler. Kessler held and was behind heading to the flop.
The dealer spread on the felt and Kessler jumped into the lead. The turn brought the and the finished off the board. Kessler was able to secure the elimination and now holds about 6,500 in chips.
Action folded to the player in the hijack who bumped it up to 675. Shannon Shorr three-bet to 1,325 from the next seat over and it folded back around to the original raiser who flat called.
The duo went diamond mining as the flop came down . The hijack checked and Shorr moved him all in for 4,000. Shorr's opponent snapped him off with for the nuts. Shorr meekly tabled and was drawing very thin to take down the pot.
He didn't do it as the turned and finished off the board. Shorr is now down to about 5,500.
We arrived at the table to find two short stacked players all in and at risk against Jonathan Tamayo.
Tamayo:
Opponent 1 :
Opponent 2:
The flop came down and Tamayo picked up outs to make a diamond flush. The on the turn didn't do it, but the on the river did. He was able to score a double elimination with his diamond flush and boost his stack to about 17,000.
Phillip Hui was one of the most constant presences on the WSOP Circuit this past year. He played at nearly every stop, and easily accumulated enough points to play in the National Championship earlier this month. Well that didn't fare too well for him, but he's doing just fine for himself in his first event of the summer. While we didn't catch the details on either hand, we know from his twitter that he has knocked out two bracelet winners already. We'll let Hui tell you who.
Jason Mercier often likes to joke about how bad he runs on twitter, using his now famous hashtag #justbadluck. Well if he keeps winning hands like this one, he might have to retire it for good. Mercier open shoved his last 2,300 from under the gun, and another early position player called all in for less.
Mercier:
Opponent:
Mercier was in a world of hurt, and even though both players smashed the flop, Mercier was still far behind. The hit the turn, and Mercier was looking for a jack to win the hand, or a three or a nine would chop it for him . Well why chop when you can just win, as the on the river did just that. Mercier simply shrugged, and collected the small pot to get back about starting stack.
