Liebert Won't Let Opponent Buy it

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Kathy Liebert, on the button, bet 600 after an opponent checked to her on a {2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} board. Her opponent made the call, then fired out 700 on the {k-Spades} river. Liebert immediately tossed out a line of chips that added up to a raise to 2,175.

"I was just trying to buy it," her opponent said as he tanked. Finally, after thinking for about a minute, he dumped his hand.

Collins Stacking Early

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Phil "USCphildo" Collins reraised to 1,850 after a player in middle position made it 600. The cutoff moved all in, the original raiser folded and Collins called.

Collins: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Cutoff: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Paint arrived on the flop and turn, but the {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs} didn't bring the right kind for the cutoff. A {4-Spades} river ended his tournament, and Collins has a nice early stack brewing.

On another table, Faraz Jaka was seen exiting his seat after busting from the tournament.

Carlos Mortensen is at Table 45.

"He's been on TV about a hundred times," a player at Table 45 said, pointing to the man in seat five.

Indeed, the man in question was 2001 main event winner Carlos Mortensen, who chuckled and nodded as someone confirmed his identity. Mortensen, who has two bracelets, is attempting to add to a career total of more than $10 million in career tournament cashes.

Engel Doubles Early

Nível 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We found Ari Engel, on the button, involved in preflop raising war with a player who had opened in early position.

"All in," the early-position player announced. Engel almost beat him into the pot.

Engel: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, bringing no danger to Engel's aces.
