Lieu Five-Bet Shoves

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Paul Lieu started the hand off by raising to 2,200. Barry "Big Dog" Lang made the call. An opponent on the 3-bet to 4,600. Next to act was Andrew Brokos on the button and he made a 4-bet to 11,000. Action was on Lieu who looked at everyones chip count before announcing he was all in. This 5-bet shove got all three players to fold and the preflop action gave Lieu a sizable pot and a stack of 61,000.

Welcome to the 100,000+ Club

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Dominik Nitsche already had a ton of chips, but just added some more to get near the 200,000 mark. Nitsche was stacking his chips while the table waited for more players. That gave us the time to ask Nitsche what we had missed since he clearly had way more chips than before. Nitsche told us that he won a couple of hands in a row. In one of them he got three streets of value with pocket nines against seven eight on a board where the flop was {7-}{5-}{5-}. A little bit later he again fired three bullets on a board where the flop was {A-Spades}{A-}{10-Spades}. His opponent called the flop and turn but folded to the river shove.

Govert Metaal also has well over 100,000 now. One of the hands responsible for the big increase was one where he called a three bet with {K-}{J-}. He flopped a jack and called a small continuation bet. He hit another jack on the turn and got all the chips in the middle against pocket aces. The river was a blank and Metaal's stack skyrocketed.

Ausmus Drops Two

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Sean Jazayeri raised to 2,000 from under the gun, Jeremy Ausmus three-bet to 4,000 from the cutoff, and Ognjen Sekularac cold four-bet to 8,100 from the big blind. Only Ausmus called.

The dealer fanned {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Sekularac led out for 7,300, and Ausmus called. Both players checked when the {2-Hearts} turned, and when the {9-Spades} completed te board, and the Serbian showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a flopped set of queens. Ausmus mucked his hand.

The next hand, Jazayeri was all in preflop for 12,700 holding {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Ausmus had him at risk with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, and Jazayeri won the raise when the flop, turn, and river produced {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

He doubled to 26,000 chips, while Ausmus dropped to 166,000.

Koon Value Bets

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Most of the times a small pot we only picked up on the river wouldn't make it to the blog. just now we saw something interesting though. It had been checked to Jason Koon in the cutoff and he bet 3,600 on {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} | {6-Diamonds} | {7-Diamonds} in position. His opponent in the big blind had checked, and now called. Koon showed {5-Spades}{6-Spades} full of confidence and it was good, his opponent mucked. Talk about a value bet.

Paur Busts Julius

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ryan Julius, Kyle Julius' brother, just busted to Taylor Paur. In a preflop all in Paur held {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} while Julius tabled {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The dealer made no show out of it and rapidly put out a flop ({5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}), turn ({10-Spades}) and river ({3-Diamonds}). "Thanks for playing" the dealer said while Julius got up from the table. Paur started stacking, Julius silently left the tan section of the Amazon Room.

Steinberg Turning Houses Like a Champ

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Max Steinberg and Michael Gagliano took to a flop of {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Steinberg checked and Gagliano bet out 2,700. Steinberg called and they saw a turn of the {4-Hearts}. Again Steinberg checked and Gagliano bet. This time 6,100. Steinberg looked back at his cards and then decided to call. The river came the {3-Hearts} and Steinberg checked once more. Gagliano took a moment before annoying "All in." Steinberg could not have called quicker. Gagliano turned over {q-}{q-} and threw them immediately into the muck when Steinberg flipped up {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} like a champ. His turned full house was able to eliminate Gagliano and Steinberg joined the 100k club with 126,000.

Watson Raises the River

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a {9-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{A-Hearts} | {J-Spades} board we saw Mike Watson call a 4,000 bet out of the big blind. On the {A-Clubs}-river his opponent, the player in the small blind, bet out 6,000 or 7,000. It went to quickly to double check as Watson raised to 16,000 and got a rather fast call. Watson showed {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and his straight was enough to get his opponent to muck.
