Day 2 of Short-Handed Play Soon to Begin
Thanks for joining us on our ongoing coverage of the 2013 World Series of Poker. Today marks Day 2 for Event #21: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Six Handed). A grand total of 807 players entered this event yesterday and by the end of 10 levels only 129 remained. By the end of the evening, Jesse Wilke led the field with Victor Ramdin hot on his heels for the chip lead.
Many players flock to the opportunity to play short-handed poker, as there are only a few chances to do so at the WSOP every year. As expected, this $3,000 buy-in event drew in a field that was stacked to the brim with professional players and notable names. The likes of Jason Mercier, Michael Mizrachi, Dutch Boyd, Vanessa Rousso, Paul Vople, Vanessa Rousso, Eli Elezra, and Mickey Petersen were just a small sample size of the notable names to hit the felt only to find all of their chips gone by the start of play.
While those players failed, others thrived on the felt and will be returning close to a WSOP cash. Some of the notable stacks heading into this second day of play include Ryan Olisar (154,500), Jonathan Roy (132,700), Scott Seiver (132,000), Matt Berkey (97,300), Matt Stout (92,300), Erik Seidel (81,300), Antonio Esfandiari (80,600), Shane Schleger (75,600), Amanda Musumeci (56,200), and a ton of other recognizable names.
