Thanks for joining us on our ongoing coverage of the 2013 World Series of Poker. Today marks Day 2 for Event #21: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Six Handed). A grand total of 807 players entered this event yesterday and by the end of 10 levels only 129 remained. By the end of the evening, Jesse Wilke led the field with Victor Ramdin hot on his heels for the chip lead.
Many players flock to the opportunity to play short-handed poker, as there are only a few chances to do so at the WSOP every year. As expected, this $3,000 buy-in event drew in a field that was stacked to the brim with professional players and notable names. The likes of Jason Mercier, Michael Mizrachi, Dutch Boyd, Vanessa Rousso, Paul Vople, Vanessa Rousso, Eli Elezra, and Mickey Petersen were just a small sample size of the notable names to hit the felt only to find all of their chips gone by the start of play.
While those players failed, others thrived on the felt and will be returning close to a WSOP cash. Some of the notable stacks heading into this second day of play include Ryan Olisar (154,500), Jonathan Roy (132,700), Scott Seiver (132,000), Matt Berkey (97,300), Matt Stout (92,300), Erik Seidel (81,300), Antonio Esfandiari (80,600), Shane Schleger (75,600), Amanda Musumeci (56,200), and a ton of other recognizable names.

With only 3,900 chips left after the ante, recent bracelet winner Michael Malm moved all in from the cutoff. Action folded to David "The Dragon" Pham in the big blind who called without looking at his cards.

The flop of was safe for Malm, but Pham did pick up a pair of sixes. The turn was the giving Pham even more outs the straight. The river gave Pham that straight and it eliminated Malm from the tournament with no prize for his time.
Fortunately for Malm he just won a bracelet in Event #8: $2,500 8-Game Mix for $225,104 and thinking about that will certainly soften the blow of bubbling from this tournament.
We walked into a hand between Faraz Jaka and Jonathan Little. Both players almost had the exact same stack, minus a 400 difference.
The action picked up with a preflop raise from Little followed by three-bet from Jaka. Little responded with a four-bet, and Jaka moved all-in. Little snap-called, turning over . Jaka showed .
The board ran out , holding up for Little and falling short for Jaka. The table waited a few minutes for Jaka to count down his chip stack (98,000), only to find that Little (98,400) had him covered by just 400 in chips. The pile of chips doubled up Little to right around 195,000.
Action started with Ryan Olisar who raised to 4,000 from under the gun. On the button Allen Cunningham called. In the small blind, Paul Tedeschi counted out a reraise to 10,500. Both Olisar and Cunningham called.
The dealer spread out the flop of and Tedeschi continued his agression with a bet of 13,800. Olisar folded but Cunningham reraised to just over 30,000, leaving himself with only a few chips behind.
Tedeschi believed that Cunningham was all in and only threw in three chips, then exposed his hand. He quickly covered it when the table informed him of his mistake.
Tedeschi kept his hand over his cards as the dealer put out the on the turn. Cunningham moved all in and Tedeschi called and was finally able to remove his hand from his cards.

The river was a blank and Cunningham was eliminated and sent to the rail while Tedeschi raked in the chips.
On the last hand before the level up, J.P. Kelly opened preflop to 5,000. He was called by Erik Seidel from the small blind.
On the flop, Seidel check called a bet of 5,500 from Kelly.
Seidel checked one more time on the turn. This prompted Kelly to make a bet of 8,500. With the action back on Seidel he moved all in forcing Kelly into a decision for his tournament life. Kelly tanked for a good while before finally thumbing his cards into the muck.
Kelly was left with a severe short stack after the hand, less than ten big blinds in the new level and was eliminated from the tournament shortly after.
One of the newest chip leaders in the room is Timo Eckert. Short after moving to Eckert's table, Victor Ramdin got to experience what Eckert referred to as "running like god."
Ramdin moved all in for 128,400 before the flop and when faced with that decision Eckert made the call.

The flop came safe for Ramdin when it fell . The turn offered a little sweat though, as it gave Eckert a slew of new outs.
"Please don't do it to me," Ramdin pleaded with the dealer and the poker gods.
But they did it to him when the fell on the river. Ramdin mumbled some expletives while Eckert came over to give some condolences.
"I've just been running like god for the last three days," he told Ramdin.
"Yeah you're running like god," Ramdin said pointing to the board. "And you're gonna need a lot more of it to ship this tournament."
Ramdin made his exit stage left, but still collected a little payday for his efforts.
Andrew Lichtenberger was just crippled, then eliminated by Connor Allisen and here's what happened:
Action folded to Allisen who raised to 6,000 from the button. From the small blind Lichtenberger reraised to 13,500. The big blind folded putting the action back on Allisen who reraised all in. After getting a count Lichtenberger made the call.

The board was dealt out offering no help to Licthenberger who was forced to give up his chips to Allisen, leaving him with lessthan ten big blinds.
Shortly thereafter, Lichtenberger was eliminated from the tournament by Allisen.
Action trickled around to Erik Seidel on the button and he came out with a raise to 8,000. Paul Tedeschi called him from the big blind and the two went heads up to the flop.
The dealer fanned and Tedeschi checked. Seidel fired out a continuation bet of 9,000 and Tedeschi came right back over the top for 25,000. Seidel went into the tank and repeatedly shuffled a small stack of orange t25,000 chips. He looked at his cards one more time then went back to shuffling.
"Raise," Seidel quietly said.
Seidel slowly and deliberately cut out a three-bet that made the action 80,000 to go. Tedeschi waited about fifteen seconds before declaring that he was all in Seidel took one more look at his cards and called.

Tedeschi managed to flop top two pair but it was nothing against Seidel's made straight. Tedeschi was looking to make a full house on the subsequent streets but did not get there as the turned and the rivered. The chips were counted to find Seidel had 236,000 which just covered Tedeschi's 226,000. The Frenchman hit he rail while Seidel dragged in the massive pot. He's currently sitting on about 485,000.
We just witnessed a huge pot take place between David "The Dragon" Pham and Justin "BoostedJ" Smith.
There was at least 50,000 chips in the pot by the turn where Pham made a bet of 45,000 chips on a board of . Smith took a while to tank before he finally slid the chips into the pot for a call.
The river was the and Pham didn't waste too much time betting 75,000. Smith fell into the tank again but this time he settled on a fold. He grabbed his cards and tossed them into the muck, while Pham slid his hand facedown to the dealer.
Pham has a clear cut grasp on the chip lead after scooping the huge pot.
