Annette Obrestad is back at work today hoping to earn her 2nd WSOP Victory and Gold Bracelet. She is the youngest player to win one of the coveted bracelets, when at 18-years old she took down the 2007 World Series Of Poker - Europe, London. Obrestad has been busy this summer playing in several events and has a 42nd place finish in Event #7: $ 1,000 No Limit Hold'em for $6,051. Maybe this is the event where she will once again find gold.
Antonio Esfandiari is back at it today in the Brasilia Room. He is not only chasing another bracelet but he is hoping to do some good along the way. As the winner of last year's $ 1,000,000 The Big One for One Drop (Event #55), Esfandiari is pledging to donate even more of his winnings to the cause and is encouraging others to do the same. From Twitter earlier today:
Despite the relatively low $1,000 buy-in, Event #18 has attracted some stellar names including 2011 WSOP Main Event runner-up Martin Staszko, online legend Jon "Pearljammer" Turner and Faraz "The Toilet" Jaka.
In last year's WSOP, Dominik Nitsche won a bracelet in a similar $1,000 buy-in (Event #59A) and had five additional cashes. He recently posted his first cash of this summer with 82nd place in Event #14: $ 1,500 No Limit Hold'em for $4,174. Nitsche is back on the felt today hoping to make it a long three days.
Pennsylvania's Matt Brady looks to be our early chip leader as he is sat behind a pile of chips worth 10,000. It's very early day here in Event #18 but Brady has done his chances of a second 2013 WSOP cash no harm by being fast out of the blocks.
