Robert Layne Eliminated in 15th Place ($20,504)

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Robert Layne
Robert Layne

Action folded all around to Bobby Layne in the small blind but not before the {j-Spades}{7-Spades} was exposed. Layne went all in and Dan Gannon was contemplating the call and was not happy that one of his outs was exposed. Gannon eventually made the call with {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and was ahead of Layne's {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Gannon's kicker played eliminating Layne in 15th place.

Event #14 Day 2 Ends With 14 Players Remaining, Hiren Patel Leading the Way

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Hiren Patel, Day 2 Chip Leader
Hiren Patel, Day 2 Chip Leader

After ten levels and ten hours of play the remaining 206 players in Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em has been reduced to just 14 players. Play started today just eight players away from the money. After two rounds of hand for hand play that number had been reduced to 198 and all the players were in the money. The bubble boy was Zohar Spivack. He was eliminated when his {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} was outrun by Mark Wahba's {J-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Soon after the players began dropping fast and we lost pros and new faces alike. Very quickly we lost Huy Nguyen, Dan Kelly, Nick Schulman, Dominik Nitsche, Todd Terry, Andy Frankenberger, and more. Towards the end of the night there were two well known pros left in the field in Erick Lindgren and Owen Crowe.

Lindgren made it to the final three tables but he was eliminated in 19th place ($13,260) when he got it all in behind Jonathan Taylor. Crowe lasted a little longer but was working with a short stack most of the night after he ran into a cooler hand against Hunter Frey. Crowe was later eliminated in 16th place ($16,379) when he shoved into Hiren Patel's monster in the big blind.

It is Patel leading the way of the final 14 coming into tomorrow's action and he will be the man everyone is chasing on their way to the final table. Patel finished the day with 1,510,000. Not far behind was Jonathan Taylor who finished up with 1,222,000. Action will resume tomorrow in the blue section of the Amazon room at 1 p.m. where players will play down to final table and then down to the eventual winner. PokerNews.com will be here with updates for the entire day so make sure to stay tuned for all the action.
