Mike Sexton is a Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better beast. His one and only WSOP bracelet came in the game back in 1989, and all told he has 12 cashes in the variant. Sexton had high hopes of cashing for a thirteenth time today (which according to WSOP Media Director Nolan Dalla would have been a Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better record), but his dreams of doing so just came to an end when he was eliminated from the tournament in unknown action.
He may be gone, but we haven't seen the last of Sexton at the 2013 WSOP. In fact, we expect he'll be playing more than ever with the side bets he's booked.

I made 16 individual "do better" bets at WSOP & could only play 2 of 1st 12 events & have to miss 3 more days. #whatwasIthinking? Let's Go!Follow @MikeSexton_WPT
Even though the Poker Hall of Famer is no longer with us, we thought it'd be worthwhile to take a look back at Sexton's Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better accomplishments:

We caught the action on sixth streeted when both Ognjen Sekularac and defending champ Adam Friedman checked to Barry Greenstein, who put out a bet. Sekularac and Friedman both called to see seventh, at which point they checked to Greenstein. The veteran pro put out another bet, Sekularac called and Friedman got out of the way.
Greenstein tabled the ![]()

for a pair of tens and a seven-six low, and both were good to scoop the pot.

In a hand right before the break, Ryan Miller took down a decent pot at the expense of Melissa Burr. We caught the action on fifth street when Miller bet and Burr called. Miller maintained the lead on sixth and kept the pressure on with a bet, prompting Burr, who had just 3,800 behind, to think for 30 seconds or so before picking up her cards and sending them to the muck.
Meanwhile, Australian poker legend Gary Benson has been eliminated from the tournament.

Right before break, four bets went in on third street, with Tehan bringing it in, Grubb completing, and Yakovenko raising. Tehan re-raised, Grubb called, and Yakovenko put in the fourth bet. Both Tehan and Grubb called.
Yakovenko then led out on every street, and Tehan and Grubb called every bet until seventh street. On seventh, Tehan folded and Grubb called.
Yakovenko showed ![]()

for jacks full, and dragged in the pot.
