Jejelowo Remains Among Leaders

AJ Jejelowo
AJ Jejelowo

A player in the cutoff raised to 6,200, and A.J. Jejelowo called from the button. The big blind called as well, and the flop was spread {Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}. It checked to the preflop raiser who bet 8,700, Jejelowo called, and the big blind folded. Both remaining players then checked the {8-Clubs} turn.

The river was the {5-Diamonds}. Jejelowo's opponent pushed out a bet of 23,700, and this time Jejelowo let his hand go.

A small hit there for the 2010-11 WSOP-C Southern Regional Champion, who continues to maintain one of the biggest stacks of the remaining 900 or so players.

Watson Gets Runner Runner Against Pham

We caught up with the action on the river, as the board read {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}. There was about 85,000 in the middle, and David "The Dragon" Pham was heads up with Cylus Watson. Pham was first to act, and he checked after about a minute of thought. It was on Watson now, and he assembled a bet of 49,700, and slid it in. Pham called very quickly, and Watson showed {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for two pair on the turn and river.

Pham led out a shout of frustration, as he flashed the {a-Spades} before mucking his hand. After losing that pot, Pham is down to 183,000, while Watson rockets up to 760,000.

Selbst Catches River; Scores Huge Double Up

Vanessa Selbst Drills The Club
Vanessa Selbst Drills The Club

We caught up with the action to see three players looking down at a board of {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and over 70,000 chips already in the pot.

The small blind checked and Vanessa Selbst checked as well. The third player fired out a bet of 50,000 and the small blind got out of the way. Action was now on Selbst and she sat riffling chips and staring at the board.

Selbst announced that she was all in and her opponent announced a call at lightning speed, tabling {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a flopped set. Selbst tabled {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flush draw and a gutshot. When Selbst saw her opponent's hand, she stood up from the table and grabbed her bag.

"I might be the worst of all time," Selbst said. "Good game guys."

The ESPN camera crews rushed over and every person walking by the rail stopped to see what all of the commotion was about.

"Nice call, man," Selbst said to her opponent while she waited to learn her fate.

Finally, the dealer pounded the table and flipped over the river card.

The {7-Clubs}.

Selbst's opponent shot up from his seat and walked to his supporters on the rail while Selbst let out a heavy sigh and sat back down in her chair. Selbst's opponent sat back down in time to watch a vast majority of his stack moved across the table toward Selbst. The two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner is now sitting on a stack of 540,000.

Selbst would immediately take to Twitter to inform her followers of her huge double up:

Mitchell Over Failla

Following an under-the-gun minimum raise to 6,000 by James Mitchell, it folded all of the way back to Will Failla in the big blind who called. The flop came monotone — {9-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Spades} — and Failla checked. Mitchell bet 12,000, and Failla called. Both players then checked the {3-Diamonds} turn and {3-Hearts} river.

Mitchell turned over {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} for jacks and treys, while Failla showed {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a lesser two pair.

The Battle of Tran and Chan

A raised pot would see Terrence Chan and JC Tran take to a {8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop, with Chan in the big blind and Tran on the button. Both players checked on the flop and it was on to the {7-Hearts} turn. This time when Chan checked, Tran would bet 12,600. Chan thought for quite some time, before making the call. On the {5-Clubs} river, Both players checked and Chan turned over {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, with the pair of kings enough to swipe the pot from Tran.

With just a couple of hundred eliminations needed until the money bubble, Chan could manage to post his 10th WSOP cash of the summer, which is a tremendous effort.
