Here is how a few small hands recently played out over in the Red Section of the Brasilia Room.

2006 Main Event Champion Jamie Gold opened for 1,500 from the cutoff seat and found two callers in both players in the blinds.

We caught up with the action on a board of 
to see Dario Minieri heads up with over 20,000 in the pot.
Minieri's opponent bet 13,600 and Minieri announced that he was all in. His opponent snap folded and Minieri triumphantly tabled for merely ace-high.
"Oh my god!" another player chimed in from across the table. "So sick!"
Minieri is now sitting on about 72,000.
A player opened with a 3x raise to 1,800 from under the gun, and it folded around to Dan Idema in the big blind who defended with a call. The flop came 
. Idema checked, his opponent bet 3,200, and Idema called. The turn was the and both players quickly checked.
The river brought the 
and a quick bet of 7,000 by Idema. His opponent thought for just a beat before calling, and when Idema tabled for two pair, his opponent mucked.
We don't know exactly what happened, but we know Randy Lew managed to get his short stacked opponent all in and at risk holding 
. Lew's opponent had 
and needed to avoid some aces and kings to stay alive in this tournament.
The board came 
and with the king on the flop Lew secured the lead and never let it go. Lew now sits around 90,000 in chips and continues to build his stack despite a tough table draw. Sitting on Lew's direct right is Johnny Chan. Lew seems pretty excited about this as per his tweet earlier.

Another player at Lew's table is Shannon Shorr who has tangled up with Lew a few times already. With plenty of day left and plenty of chips to be had we expect these three to have many battles throughout the day.
