Steicke Sinks Seiver

We caught up with the action on the turn, with the board reading {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. There was about 9,000 in the middle, and Scott Seiver bet out 6,000. David Steicke, his lone opponent, was on the button, and he tossed in a raise to 14,000. Seiver grabbed his water bottle, and started to take a few sips as he thought about his decision. Seiver spent about 90 seconds in the tank before kicking his cards in, shaking his head while he did so.

That hand knocked Seiver down to 43,000 while Steicke shot up to 88,000.

Boeree Able to Leap Tall Chip Stacks In a Single Bound

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Liv Boeree was moved into the Purple section of the Amazon room just after Level 4 began, swooping in to an empty seat at Table 434. Boeree is sporting a blue Superman shirt today, and began the business of conquering her foes immediately after arriving.

With the board showing {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} and 9,500 in the pot already, Boeree watched her opponent check from the blinds, then proceeded to bet 5,100. Her opponent then check-raised all in for 12,000, and faster than a locomotive Boeree called.

Boeree's opponent showed {A-Spades}{3-Spades} for treys plus a flush draw, while Boeree showed {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for the made straight. The river was the {9-Clubs}, another player has fallen, and Boeree added more chips to her stack.

Singer In The Rain

Eugene Katchalov opened to 800 only to have David Singer move all in over the top for 4,650 total. It folded back to Katchalov and he moved out a call.

Katchalov: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Singer: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

We were off to the races and Katchlov kept his lead on the {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop. The {K-Clubs} on the turn was no help to Singer either and he would need an ace or a ten that wasn't a heart to stay alive. The {4-Spades} fell and he was sent to the rail while Katchalov is now flirting with 100,000 in chips.

Easy Game For Moon

2009 Main Event Runner Up Darvin Moon open limped from under the gun, which started a trail of callers from the player directly behind him, the player in the hijack seat, the button and the small blind. The big blind checked his option for a six-way pot.

The flop came {J-}{3-}{7-} and both players in the blinds checked to Moon, who fired 1,200 into the middle. One-by-one each of his opponents folded and Moon scooped the pot hassle free.

Moon is up to 75,000.

Bonomo Busts One

Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

The flop read {3-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Bonomo had just bet out 13,000 we assume after his earlier positioned opponent had bet out, but we don't know for sure. After about 20 seconds of staring at Bonomo's bet the early position player moved all in and Bonomo quickly called.

Bonomo: {K-}{k-}
Opponent: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The {j-Clubs} then made an appearance on the turn changing nothing. All Bonomo had to do was avoid an eight and he would essentially double up as the two players were almost even in chips with Bonomo holding the slight advantage.

The {5-Clubs} then landed on the river and sealed the deal, eliminating the early position player.

Wahlbeck Working

Ville Wahlbeck has been in the danger zone, chip-wise, since the return from dinner break. He's doing what he can, though, to try to turn things around.

Just now Wahlbeck raised to 800 from early position and got a caller from the hijack seat. The pair both checked the {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop. The turn was the {K-Clubs}, Wahlbeck checked, and when his opponent bet 1,200, Wahlbeck let his hand go.

On the very next hand he was raising to 800 again, this time from under the gun, getting a caller in the small blind. The flop came {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and when checked to Wahlbeck bet 1,050, getting a fold.

You Know Dasher and Danzer...

We caught up to find George Danzer heads up in a pot with the board reading {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Danzer fired out 3,600 on the river and his opponent thought for about thirty seconds before tossing out a call. Danzer flipped up {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for a straight and his opponent tapped the table and flung his hand to the muck. Danzer is now sitting on a stack of about 65,000.

Musumeci Eliminated

Amanda Musumeci made a deep run in last year's Main Event, finishing in 62nd place. She won't be repeating that run this year as she has been eliminated shortly after the dinner break.

A series of preflop raises between Musumeci and Sean Pramuk led to Musumeci all in for about 41,000 with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}. Pramuk held {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and held up through the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} board.

Musumeci's WSOP isn't overwith yet, though, as she made the final of the WSOP National Championship which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

Tran Trending Up

When we got to the table, JC Tran was heads up with another opponent on a board that read {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Tran checked to his opponent, who fired out 3,250, which appeared to be about a pot sized bet. Tran made the call, and both players checked when the {8-Clubs} hit the river. Tran tabled {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, and his opponent mucked, giving the pot over to Tran.

Tran has doubled his starting stack after that hand, as he now sits on 60,000.
