Brasilia Almost Empty

There was only one notable player left in Brasilia, and he's doing very well. Faraz Jaka gave us a rough estimate of his chips which are stacked in random towers.

Brasilia consists of only two tables and soon all the players will be inside the Amazon Room.

The Game Within the Game

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Among the side stories for this event was the Onnit Labs Last Sticker Standing Contest in which players sporting the Onnit sticker were competing against one another for a cash prize.

The Main Event is underway, and some who have entered the $10,000 buy-in event will be participating in the Onnit Labs Last Sticker Standing Contest. All of those with Onnit stickers will be competing against one another as well as the rest of the field, as the last one to be eliminated will earn a nifty $5,000 prize for his or her efforts.

Read more about the contest here.

Luongo Brothers in Tan

Over in the Tan section NHL goaltender Roberto Luongo has taken some time away from the ice to battle it out on the felt. The Canucks' goalie seems to be quite at home as he has built his stack up to over 80,000. A table away sits Fabio Luongo, Roberto's brother. The two can be seen exchanging words every so often when they're not in a hand, we don't know what they talk about, but it probably has something to do with Fabio having over 100,000 in chips.

On the other side of the Tan Section Kathy Liebert's seat sits open. We talked to the table to find out what happened, and apparently she three-bet shoved for around 3,800 preflop. The table folded around to the initial raiser and he made the call. Liebert had {Q-}{j-} while her opponent tabled {A-}{8-}. The flop came {A-}{A-}{10-} and Liebert was never able to catch up and was subsequently eliminated.

Spinks Still Going Strong

Jon Spinks has been steadily chipping up for most of the day, and it looks like the dinner break hasn't stopped that, as we just saw him rake in another pot.

There was 7,000 in the middle with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} when we arrived. Spinks was heads up with an opponent who fired out 3,500. Spinks quickly tossed in the call, and his opponent tapped the table, and revealed {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for eight high. Spinks rolled over {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} for second pair, which was good enough to take the pot. After that hand, Spinks is up to 81,000.

Bari Gains Some Chips

Over on Allen Bari's table, he was busy taking to a {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop against one opponent in a raised pot. Bari's opponent was first to act and checked. Bari then bet 600 and his opponent quickly check-raised to 2,100. Bari made the call and a {a-Diamonds} was dealt on the turn. Bari's opponent again checked, except this time he would fold when Bari flicked out a bet of 2,950.

While this was only a small pot, Bari has managed to his chip stack improve greatly from earlier in the evening.

Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Bride

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

It is certainly one thing to win the Main Event, it is another thing to come in second in poker's biggest game twice. T.J. Cloutier has managed this feat, coming second in 1985, and 2000. The six time bracelet winner was just seen hamming it up in front of the ESPN cameras in the Amazon room. Cloutier says he will be playing the Main Event tomorrow, and we will be sure to be on the look out for him.
