Lopez Doubles Through Quignard

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

After the opening exchanges, a blind on blind confrontation against Pierre Antoine Quignard and Manuel Lopez left the former with around ten big blinds.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Lopez called a bet from Quignard. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Quignard check-raised and called off a shove from Lopez. Quignard showed {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flush, but Lopez had {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for the nut flush and doubled through his opponent.

Double for Zerbib

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Jerome Zerbib moved all in for 430,000 from under the gun. It folded to Francois Tosques in the big blind who called.

Jerome Zerbib: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Francois Tosques: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Tosques was ahead and looked poised to send Zerbib out in 12th. However, the {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board favoured the all-in player and he doubled up.

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Catching up on the action on a {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} board, Silma Macalou checked and start of day chip leader Pedro Ingles bet 90,000. Macalou called and the turn was the {k-Diamonds}

Macalou checked again and Ingles bet 400,000. Macalou called.

The pair checked the {2-Clubs} river and Macalou tabled {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a rivered house. Ingles mucked.

Can Tosques Go Back-to-Back? Returns on Day 3 Second in Chips

Francois Tosques

A total of 545 players entered the 2019 World Poker Tour DeepStacks Marrakech Main Event and now just 12 players remain in with a chance of 1,100,000 MAD and the chance of being crowned the latest WPTDS Europe champion.

While Pedro Ingles might top the chip counts almost 600,000 chips ahead of his nearest rival, it is the identity of that player sitting in second on the leaderboard that everyone will be paying attention to.

Last year Francois Tosques took home 1,000,000 MAD (€91,411) after defeating Moroccan Jaouad Abida heads-up to top a 431-player field.

Now he's back and in a strong position not only to make the final table, but to match his performance from twelve months ago.

Other players still in contention include Daniel El Keslassy, who is the only Moroccan left in the field and is the only other player over two million in chips behind Tosques and Ingles. Sitting second from bottom in the chip counts is another notable in the shape of Bruno Fitoussi who will hope to have a strong start to spring back into contention.

Here is the seating draw of the final two tables ahead of Day 3:
