Welcome back to Crown Melbourne and 2014 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific for Day 2 of Event 8: AU$5,000 8-Game Mixed.
The second mixed game event of the series has so far attracted 45 players - down from the 91-player field last year - but with registration still open until the first card of the day, hopefully that number will climb by a few.
Currently there are 26 players remaining with Richard Ashby the current chip leader with 79,850 while Bruno Portaro (52,925) and the current leader in WSOP Player of the Year Brandon Shack-Harris (51,175) are the only other two players above 50,000.
WSOP bracelet winners Joe Hachem, Brian Rast, Daniel Negreanu, Mel Judah, Dan Heimiller, Jonathan Duhamel, Jeff Madsen and George Danzer still remain while a plethora of Australian players are still in contention with Oliver Gill, Dylan Honeyman, Van Marcus and Sam Khouiss still with chips.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand from 12:30 p.m. local time to provide continuous live updates of all the Day 2 action as we play down to the final table.
With a few new players entering here on Day 2, there is now a new table being opened with a player from each existing table being high-carded and moved to the new table.
