We missed the hand that crippled 2010 World Series of Poker Player of the Year Frank Kassela, but according to Brandon Shack-Harris, who could very well become the 2014 WSOP Player of the Year, Kassela was crippled after he tried to run a bluff in no-limit hold'em. He bluffed into Bruno Portaro's two pair and couldn't shake the Aussie.
Not long after, Kassela got his last few chips all in on fourth street against Mike Leah in a hand of razz.

"Why do I feel I'm drawing dead?" Kassela said even before fifth was dealt. Kassela wasn't drawing dead, but his bad omen came true as Leah made a seven-six low on sixth to leave Kassela drawing dead. With that, the 2010 WSOP Player of the Year become the first elimination of Event #8: $5,000 8-Game Mixed.

Action folded to Rob Campbell on the button and he raised to 400. Jan Suchanek responded with a three-bet to 600 from the small blind, Jeff Lisandro folded the big, and Campbell called to see a flop of 
.
Suchanek bet 200, Campbell called, and then action repeated itself on the 
turn, albeit for 400. Suchanek then slowed down with a check on the 
river but still called when Campbell bet 400. Campbell tabled the 
for aces and queens, which was good for the high. Suchanek then rolled over the 
for a 6-5-4-3-A low. Chop it up.
Stud
Vanessa Rousso brought it in with a four and then called when George Sotiropoulos completed with an ace. Rousso then called a bet on fourth street before folding to one of 300 on fifth.

Welcome back to the 2014 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific. Today one of the most prestigious tournaments on the 10-event schedule will take place — Event #8: $5,000 8-Game Mixed. Last year this event attracted 91 entries and saw Phil Ivey emerge victorious to capture his ninth gold bracelet (he now has 10) and a AU$51,840 first-place prize.
Whether or not Ivey will return to defend his title remains to be seen. Ivey was originally schedule to be at the WSOP APAC, but certain obligations held him up in London all week. His business in the UK recently concluded, and now rumors are swirling that he may be headed to Melbourne. We'll have to wait and see if that proves true.
Some players that we do know are here and are expected to play today are current WSOP Player of the Year leader Brandon Shack-Harris; 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Jonathan Duhamel; recent WSOP APAC bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro; Poker Hall of Famer Gary Benson; 2012 WSOP Champ and Player of the Year Greg Merson; and reigning WSOP APAC Main Event champ Daniel Negreanu.
Players will start with 15,000 in tournament chips, and the play for the day is to play 10 one-hour levels with a 15-minute break every two levels. There will be a one-hour dinner break after Level 6, and late registration will remain open for eight levels.
