Lisandro Takes Henson to Broadway

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

"Well that was quick," Ray Henson said via social media. "Wow, very unbelievable."

Henson then explained that action folded to him on the button and he raised to 100 holding the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Jeff Lisandro then three-bet to 300 from the small blind, Henson called, and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-}. They got it all in, and Henson was a huge favorite against Lisandro's {a-}{k-}{q-}{q-} all-red hand. Unfortunately for Henson, an offsuit jack spiked and Lisandro scored the knockout with a Broadway straight.

The Moony Rises

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

With 200 in the pot and four players in the hand, the flop came down {q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and the player in the small blind checked. Jeffrey Moony then bet 200 from the big, an early-position player called, and Jonathan Dimming, who won the Millionaire Maker event for $1.3 million this past summer, came along from middle position. The small blind folded and it was three-way action to the {10-Diamonds} turn, which everyone checked.

When the {2-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Moony fired out 700 and chased off both the early-position player and Dimmig.

Mohsin Done in By Running Diamonds

After two players had limped, another player opted to raise to 125. Mohsin Charania called from the button, another player came along, and the limpers put in the additional chips to make it five-way action to the {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop.

Action checked to Charania, who bet 450 holding a set with the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. One of the limpers then check-raised to 1,100, the original raiser flatter, and Charania three-bet all in for 5,700. Only one player called him holding {q-}{j-}{10-}{x-} with two diamonds.

Charania was in a great spot to win the large pot, but the running {3-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river was a dagger through his heart as his opponent made a runner-runner flush.

"That was stupid," Charania lamented before taking his leave from the tournament.

Duhamel vs. Lin: Only One Will Survive

Nível 1 : 25/25, 0 ante
Jonathan Duhamel in earlier WSOP APAC action.
Jonathan Duhamel in earlier WSOP APAC action.

On a flop of {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, David Lin bet 450 from the big blind only to have 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Jonathan Duhamel raise to 1,425 from the under-the-gun position. Roland Israelashivili folded from late position, Lin called, and it was heads-up action to the {9-Diamonds} turn.

Lin checked, Duhamel moved in for his last 1,050, and Lin called. The cards were turned up an Duhamel discovered the bad news.

Duhamel: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Lin: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Duhamel had flopped good with top two pair, but he was counterfeited on the turn when Lin made aces and nines. The {4-Clubs} river actually improved Lin to a flush, and Duhamel took his leave in Level 1.

More for Marcus

Nível 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Van Marcus has gotten off to a red-hot start here in Event #3. We recently came across a hand with 1,650 in the pot and a board reading {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The player in the small blind checked, and that opened the door for Marcus to bet 1,100. His opponent thought for about 40 seconds before tossing in a call, but mucked when Marcus rolled over the {q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a full house.

Short Day for Leah

Nível 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Mike Leah passed by our desk and informed us that his day had come to an early end.

He explained that he had called a raise holding the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} and then called a bet on the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-} flop. Leah, who had two pair with a flush draw, called another bet on the turn, and then put out a big bet after his opponent checked the river, which was a heart. His opponent woke up with a check-raise, and Leah called off his last few hundred with his flush. Unfortunately for him, it was no good as his opponent held the nut flush with {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{x-}{x-}.

Great Start for Marcus

Nível 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

It didn't take long for the first elimination of the day, which isn't surprising considering the nature of PLO.

We missed the hand unfold, but we do know that the chips went in on the turn with a board reading {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Van Marcus held the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for top two pair, and his opponent held the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair, and both straight and flush draws. Marcus needed to dodge a lot of dangerous cards, and he did so as the {10-Hearts} river improved him to a full house. With that, Marcus doubled his starting stack while sending a player to the rail.
