Madsen Busts Cohen

Nível 5

2-7 Triple Draw

"You're friends with Joe, right? Serock?" asked Sam Cohen to Jeff Madsen very early in the tournament when she joined the table.

"Yep," responded Madsen, before letting Cohen know he and Serock were good friends. From this point, Cohen and Madsen chatted a bit and were cordial with one another, sharing a mutual friend in Serock, but as the old saying goes, there are no friends at the poker table.

From the cutoff seat, the three-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner, Madsen, raised. Cohen called all in for 175 from the small blind, and then Mel Judah, a member of the Australian Poker Hall of Fame, called from the big blind.

On the first draw, Cohen drew two, Judah took one, and Madsen took one. Judah then check-called a bet from Madsen, as Cohen awaited her fate as the all-in player.

For the second draw, all three players opted to take one card. Judah then led with a bet, Madsen put in a raise, and Judah called.

All three players stood pat for the final drawing round, and Judah checked to Madsen. Madsen bet, and Judah folded to give Madsen the sizable side pot.

Cohen showed the {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a nine-eight low. Her hand was no good against Madsen's {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, though, and she was eliminated from the tournament.

A Stud One for Lisandro

Nível 4

Seven-Card Stud

Jeff Lisandro: ({X-}{X-}) / {5-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
David Gorr: ({X-}{X-}) / {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}fold
Daniel Negreanu: ({X-}{X-}) / {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}fold

Picking up the action on fifth street, David Gorr, former champion of the Aussie Millions Main Event and member of the Australian Poker Hall of Fame, checked to Daniel Negreanu. Negreanu fired a bet, and another Australian Poker Hall of Fame member, Jeff Lisandro, made the call. Gorr also called.

On sixth street, Gorr was first once more and checked. Negreanu also checked, and that prompted Lisandro to pounce with a bet. Gorr and Negreanu folded, and Lisandro won the pot.

Lisandro Picking a Stud Game, Of Course

Nível 4

It was recently Jeff Lisandro's choice to pick a game, and he selected stud hi-lo, which shouldn't be of a surprise to anyone when you examine Lisandro's credentials.

Lisandro ranks No. 1 on the World Series of Poker's all-time money list for stud hi-lo, winning $512,316 from the game and one gold bracelet. Lisandro is also No. 4 on the WSOP's all-time razz money list and No. 7 on the WSOP's all-time stud money list, so he certainly knows how to perform in games involving seven cards. In fact, four of Lisandro's six gold bracelets have come from a variant of stud, and he has numerous other final tables to go along with those wins.
