Some Bigger Stacks

Suchanek Folds to Aggression

Nível 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We saw a three-way flop of {4-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {7-Spades} and the action was folded to Jan Suchanek, who led out for 725. The player in the small blind now check-raised heavily to 6,500 and that was enough to scare off both opponents that were still in the hand.

Big Slick Does the Trick for Gill

Nível 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We're not sure how the preflop action unfolded, but we do know Oliver Gill got his stack of 4,375 all in preflop and was racing for his tournament life.

Gill: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {9-}{9-}

Gill was behind, but he had two overs. The {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop was no help to him, but the {K-Diamonds} turn was as it gave him the lead with kings. The {3-Clubs} river failed to influence the hand, and Gill scored the double.

Truong Loses with Another Full House

Nível 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

"I lost with a full house again," Tam Truong informed us.

Truong, who was eliminated from the Day 1b flight when his full house fell to quads, explained that while he technically lost with a full house, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. He had actually got his stack in preflop holding {10-}{10-} only to run into an opponent's {q-}{q-}.

The board ran out {5-}{5-}{4-}{q-}{10-}, so Truong had been drawing dead even before he made the full house. The hometown pro said that he plans to play in tomorrow's Event #2 $2,200 No-Limit Hold'em, so we'll see him back in action then.

Gross Takes a Hit

Nível 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

We missed the preflop action, but we do know that a player got his stack of 1,400 all in preflop and was at risk against Jeff Gross.

Gross: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Gross had some kicker problems, and they didn't get resolved as the board ran out a clean {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Charania Doubles

Nível 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Mohsin Charania was all in with the {K-Spades}{5-Spades} on the {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} board for 1,850. His opponent had the {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The river completed the board with the {9-Clubs}, and that gave Charania the double to approximately 4,800.

One for Hellmuth

Nível 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

A player in early position opened for 350 only to have Phil Hellmuth three-bet to 850 from the cutoff. The button and both blinds folded, and then the original raiser made a quick call to see a flop of {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, which they both checked.

When the {J-Spades} appeared on the turn, the early-position player checked and Hellmuth bet a modest 400. It did the trick as his opponent shook his head and released his cards.
