Welcome to Day 1b of the Winamax SISMIX festival Main Event

The Winamax SISMIX poker festival continues at the Casino de Marrakech in the Es Saadi Resort. Day 1b of the €500 (5,500 Dirham) Main Event, the second of four starting flights, kicks off today at 12:00 local time.

Players will be shaking off cobwebs from the night before to take part in what is set to be another exciting day both on and off the felt.

Main Event Day 1b entrants will start with a stack of 50,000 chips and blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Blind levels run for 30 minutes with a break every four levels.

Day 1b will play down to the money and those who survive will be returning for Day 2 and the chance to make life changing sums of money. Players will have the option to re-enter each flight once and today's late registration runs for the first 13 levels.

As is always the case for SISMIX events, the tournament will be six-handed, making for a format that is sure to encourage plenty of action.

Winamax pro Adrian Mateos won the SISMIX Main Event in 2018 for $106,128, the last time the event was held in Marrakech. In 2019, SISMAX moved to Spain, where German player Tim Hartmann took down the Main Event for $112,875.

Day 1a concluded with Javier Tsunamy taking the lead with one million chips. We'll find out later whether anyone can top his stack at the end of Day 1b.

Elsewhere, SISMIX is offering food, music and entertainment in the form of the afternoon pool party and, later on, the Soiree Marocaine, which involves couscous and dancers. Tonight's Theatro club event will be hosted by DJs Psyone and A-B Boy.

Crozes Eliminates Sfez With Pocket Kings

Following an early position raise and call, Jeremy Crozes reraised to 5,500 from the button. Lucas Sfez came over the top with a four-bet to 15,000 and Crozes pushed all in for 54,000.

Sfez checked his cards and paused for a moment before making the call with the slightly shorter stack. Two players flipped their cards.

Crozes had pocket kings and was ahead as the board was dealt. The cards came 5♠5♥6♠6♥2♦ which brought no improvement for Sfez. Crozes' kings held and he near enough doubled up. Sfez was eliminated from the tournament.

Berruet Triples Up, Kechiche Wins Side Pot, Mazerolle Eliminated

Off the Felt at Winamax SISMIX

Winamax SISMIX is about much more than just the poker. Off the felt activities start with a daily pool party, progress on to evening entertainment, and culminate in what can only be described as a full on rave.

Every day at 2 p.m. local time, those who are now playing a tournament can be found poolside, where DJs and live bands provide chilled out vibes.

Later on in the evening, players have the option to partake in exclusive activities. Yesterday evening, it was the Winamax Beer Pong contest. Drinks flowed and passions flaired as players up a different kind of table.

Once the day's tournaments are winding down, most players can be found over at Theatro, the club right next door to the casino. The music in there is loud and the atmosphere is pumping.

Drinks are available at the bar and bottles of vodka and gin can be found dotted around the club, where players can get a top up for free. DJs provide the music and dancers bring the vibes.

We're only a couple of days in to the Winamax SISMIX poker festival. There's still so much more to come both on and off the felt.

Peiced together by the joint efforts of floor staff and media, the hand was as follows...

Christian Ly raised from the button and Htati Zakaria already had his remaining chips in the middle in the big blind. The two players flipped over their cards.
