Dia 1a Concluído
Day 1a of the Winamax Poker Open Bratislava €500 Main Event at the Banco Casino has come to a close after 21 levels of play.
The first starting flight attracted 427 entries, which saw €187,880 go into the prize pool, however that number is officially €264,880 due to pre-registered players for the upcoming Day 1’s.
Of the 427 entries, just 71 players advanced the tournament’s Day 2. Benjamin Gros topped the end of day chip counts, finishing the heat off with a 822,000 stack. Martin Munoz and Dominik Desset also had a fruitful time on the felt and bagged 737,000 and 706,000 respectively. Yohan Gornadha had bagged a stack of 23,000 but forfeited it to try and come back with a bigger chip count.
Among the entries were several member’s of Winamax Team Pro’s stable. Romain Lewis, Bruno Lopes, Gaelle Baumann, Alejandro Romero, Guillaume Diaz, Alexane Najchaus and Loic Debregeas all battled in the opening starting flight but found themselves on the wrong side of the rail as the day played out.
There was one Winamax Team Pro who did advance, and that was Pierre Calamusa. The Frenchman navigated much of the day with a short stack. Calamusa managed to pilot over 270,000 chips through to Day 2 but will need to spin it up to have any hope of making Day 3.
Yann Lormel was the unfortunate player to bubble after his ace-king fell to David Gouedard’s pocket queens. Their elimination ensured everyone else a min-cash, which will be determined when the starting flights conclude.
There were also a host of notable names who also entered the Day 1a with WSOP bracelet winners Dalibor Dula and Jonathan Therme making the trip to Slovakia. However, both players were unable to bag and tag a stack for Day 2, which they have several more opportunities to do just that.
