Dia 1 Iniciado
This years U.S. Poker Open is now drawing near to completion, having just three events left on the schedule and today is the one many players have been waiting for as Event #8: $25,000 Mixed Game Championship kicks off.
This is the only tournament of the series that will have the kind of poker being played shifting from one game to another after every six hands of play, including 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw, Limit Hold'em, No-Limit Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Pot-Limit Omaha, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
The current USPO points leader is Stephen Chidwick and he also happens to be the defending champion of this event, taking it down last year for $382,500. This was the second event Chidwick took down last year, in back-to-back fashion, after taking down the $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $372,000, setting the stage for his 2018 USPO title.
An eight game mix with this level buy-in is usually something not seen outside of the summer and should be attracting some of the best mix game players, that may not have been seen yet this week. Brian Rast is one player that might make his USPO debut today, boasting a career earning of over $21 million and being known as one of the best mixed game players in the world. Another player that might make a debut today is Daniel Negreanu, who resides right here in Las Vegas and is also known for playing these high buy-in mixed games.
