Unibet Ambassador, award winning podcast host, and Poker Satellite Strategy author Dara O'kearney has taken his seat in the Main Event here on Day 1b, alongside fellow ambassadors Monica Vaka and Charlotte Van Brabander.

In addition to the ambassadors, Unibet community member Przemyskaw "kodz8o" Zieluski is in action next to Vaka, and Irish poker legend Mick McCloskey is also in action at the same table.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom Wins Unibet Open Dublin Battle Royale

The 2020 Unibet Open Dublin in the Bonnington Hotel in Ireland's capital is in full swing, and PokerNews is right there on the floor to capture all the action. While the Main Event is just underway, several side events have already wrapped up and crowned their champions.

One of them was a showcase Sit 'n Go between Unibet's ambassadors, the Battle Royale, where none other than Swedish poker phenom Viktor "Isildur1" Blom walked away a winner. Blom, a staple at previous iterations of the long-running mid-stakes tour in Europe, defeated Unibet commentator David Vanderheyden heads-up, while Norwegian ambassador Espen Uhlen Jorstad settled for bronze.

Co-hosts of Unibet's award-winning podcast The Chip Race, Dara O'Kearney and David Lappin, just missed out on the money, with O'Kearney bubbling at the hands of Jorstad after a long stretch of four-handed play. By then, the tournament had escalated in a very short-stacked affair, with not even 30 big blinds in play left between Blom, Vanderheyden, and Jorstad.

With the latter two on crumbs, "Isildur1" then took them out in back-to-back hands to add another poker trophy to his mantlepiece.

Second Chance to Book a Ticket to Day 2

Day 1b is the second chance for players to book a stack for Day 2. Day 1b kicks off at noon on Friday, and they'll play 10 levels with the same structure as Day 1a.

Any players who busted Day 1a before the end, or who bust Day 1b, will still have a last chance to get into Day 2 with the turbo Day 1c heat. Day 1b will play out with one hour levels through the entire day, but Day 1c gets going at 9PM and runs lightning fast 20 minute levels with the same 30,000 start stack. Both Day 1b and 1c should finish around the same time, but by the time Day 1c starts, 1b will have already closed registration.

Just as a reminder, Day 1a and 1b have no reentry option on them. Players who bust one of those days can only reenter on Day 1c, and Day 1c is also open for new entries as well, so it promises to be a raucous event with lots of action. Stay tuned here at PokerNews for coverage throughout Day 1b and 1c, and by the end of the day on Friday, the final field for the 2020 Unibet Open Main Event will be set.
