Hadar Goren has re-entered a while ago and kept leaping out of his chair to see the board whenever he was involved in a hand. That's also what happened just now in a heads-up duel with Gordon Padayachee when they check the Q♥J♥2♥10♠K♥ river. Padayachee sighed with his 7♥6♥ in the small blind as he had flopped the flush, but Goren took the pot holding the Q♠10♥.
Wouter Van Der Merwe was all-in and at risk preflop with the A♣J♠ and had a kicker problem to solve against the A♥K♣ of Menesh Keshav.
However, the 3♣3♠2♣9♦Q♥ board provided no help whatsoever and the king played for Keshav to reduce the field by one contender.
Sean Suckerman opened the action with a raise to 4,000 and Ahmed Karrim three-bet to 12,000. It folded all the way back to Suckerman, who four-bet to 27,000 and Karrim called.
On the 10♣9♠8♣ flop, Suckerman continued for 21,000 with around 34,000 behind and picked up a call from Karrim.
The remaining chips went into the middle on the 9♣ turn and Karrim instantly called.

Suckerman was not drawing dead but on rather thin ice, and found no escape on the 8♥ river.
After his previous large double-up, nothing went the way of Rajeev Poonhath and he dropped towards the bottom of the leaderboard around the starting stack. He ultimately got the chips into the middle and Giovanni Zanette looked him up with the covering stack, Dirk Steenkamp folded.

The 10♣10♠Q♦6♣Q♣ board failed to improve Poonhath and he was knocked out during the final level of the registration period on Day 1c. "I had pocket fives," Steenkamp mentioned.
Tony Van Eeden got his short stack of 19,400 into the middle with the 8♠8♥ and needed help, as Tim Akinnusi revealed the Q♦Q♣.
The 10♥8♣7♠5♣K♠ board improved Van Eeden to a set and he survived, silently fist-pumping before stacking the chips.
While it had been rather quiet in the room after the dinner break up until now, there is an undeniable buzz now as several spectators have arrived. Many of them will be very tempted to jump into the turbo heat which is about to kick off and among those to enter will be Diane Walker and Adam Gamsy for sure as they both won a Flipout table.
The registration for Day 1c remains open but the field size has been stuck on 92 entries for a while now.

Jamie Vilela check-called the K♦Q♦5♥Q♠ turn for 8,000 and then checked the 6♦ on the river out of the big blind. Rex Hsu bet 25,000 from under the gun and Vilela carefully checked his stack before he opted to fold.
"Did you hit your flush?" Vilela asked and Hsu glanced at both of his cards again, then flashed the A♠.
"I was beating you before that queen appeared, I swear," Vilela added.
Giovanni Zanette raised and was called by Giovanni Gaggia, the latter of which then bet the 9♦4♥3♣4♠ turn. Zanette check-called and checked the 7♣ on the river once again. Gaggia bet 10,000 and forced a reluctant fold to reveal his 6♦5♠ for a straight while Zanette rolled his eyes.
