Normally the two players involved in a hand like this would expect to chop it up and the {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop shouldn't have changed their minds too much. However, the {q-Clubs} turn added a flush draw for Tardiff which was completed after the {10-Clubs} river rained down on the board.
