A Slow Start

Day 2 started with 21 players and only 19 of them were about to get paid, meaning that the first two eliminations would have to depart from the field empty-handed. The first elimination was quick, with Joao "vovo_leo" Studart busting after ten minutes of play, but the money bubble lasted for almost an hour. At last, "colladito" was the bubble boy, after losing his chips against "zumbapoker" with the latter hitting a set of kings on the flop to hold and eliminate his opponent.

The Action Until the Final Table

Things escalated quickly and players reached the final table of seven players in less than another hour of play. Meanwhile, Joao "Naza114" Vieira, Jean-Francois "bmwmcoupe" Talbot, and Andras "probirs" Nemeth were among the players who were eliminated before the final table but in the money.

"Argentin_GOd" was the player that sent the field to the last seven players standing, after eliminating "at0216" on the final table bubble. The chips went in the middle on the flop and "Argentin_GOd" held with his top pair, while "at0216" was chasing a straight that was never meant to be completed.

Seven Finalists to the Winner

Starting the final table with the chip lead was Boeken who turned this lead into a third place finish for $98,045. Pantling made his attack when he eliminated "Argentin_GOd" in a huge pot for more than 110 big blinds at that moment. Pantling hit a set on the flop and called his opponent's shove on the turn who had an overpair and a gutshot that never got there.

After that spot, Pantling held his lead until the heads-up, but "zumbapoker" took care of the field, eliminating Zhou in fourth place and Boeken in third place.

Heads-up play was a tough battle with the lead changing hands several times, but Pantling was the eventual winner after he won a big pot with a turned set that "zumbapoker" paid for three streets, and then held with a top pair of kings with an ace kicker, against the same top pair but with a queen kicker.

The longest SCOOP festival of all times continues and the PokerNews live reporting team will be here to provide you with coverage from all the action going on until this Sunday, that the series ends.
