Linus "LLinusLLove" Loeliger Leads After Day 1 of SCOOP-75-H: $10,300 PLO Main Event
It was an extended Day 1 over the course of 15 levels that saw 136 entries into Day 1 of SCOOP-75-H: $10,300 PLO (6-Max PLO Main Event). When the day was complete, only 31 players remained to move on to Day 2 and Linus "LLinusLLove" Loeliger wound up as the chip leader.
Loeliger finished the day with a stack of 2,905,441, most of which came in a massive pot in the last level of the night. Loeliger got tangled up with Christopher "Apotheosis92" Kruk in a three-bet pot that exploded on the turn. Kruk called off the majority of his stack on the turn but folded to Loeliger's shove on the river. Loeliger put it in cruise control from there while Kruk will be forced to re-enter tomorrow if he wishes to pursue the title.
Loeliger is a young online phenom who has plenty of experience at the felt now. Known especially for being one of the top players in six-max Hold'em, it is no surprise that the Swiss poker pro had dabbed into this six-max PLO high roller event. He has accumulated over $1.4 million in online poker and over $1.8 million in live tournaments.
The field was stacked with many recognizable pros throughout the day and many of them are still sitting near the top of the leaderboard. Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane finished the day in second place with a stack of 2,748,705 while Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi rounded out the top three with 2,166,252 chips. Cochrane and Shakerchi butted heads at the same table in the last level as well with Cochrane coming out on top to pull ahead of Shakerchi.
Day 1 Action
The cards got in the air at 3:30 pm EST with around 40 players taking to the virtual felt. It took only a matter of moments before the first elimination would occur as "colladito" was forced to re-enter early on. With two re-entries available to those players that were eliminated, the bust-outs came at a frequent pace throughout the entire day, despite the deep structure.
The guaranteed prizepool of $1,250,000 was hit partway through the day and is currently sitting at $1,360,000. Late registration will remain open until the start of Day 2 and the prizepool will be finalized at that point. The winner's share is currently sitting at over $287,000.
Some other notable names to make it through to Day 2 include Ben "Ben86" Tollerene (1,765,423), Andras "probirs" Nemeth (1,272,748), Alex "dynoalot" Difelice (1,172,681), Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas (1,149,175) and Joao "INeedMassari" Simao (735,163). The day wasn't so kind to others such as Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn, Myrmo "locomi" Espen, Dimitri "MITS 304" Michaelides, Alexey "LuckyGump" Makarov, and Ryhor "Grisha1983" Karapanau who burned through multiple bullets.
The action will fire up again tomorrow at 1:00 pm EST with these 31 players returning among any others who wish to join with a fresh stack of 250,000 chips. The blinds will resume on level 16 with the blinds at 6,000/12,000. Day 2 will play until the final table of seven players is reached who will return for Day 3 of this tournament.
