The Phased SCOOP-01-H $215 event resumed with 1,366 players making it through from a total of 11,933 entrants. This broke the$2,000,000 guarantee - already one of the biggest of the festival - generating a prize pool of $2,386,600.

The winner will take home $225,009, but first the final 27 players had to be reached. It took seven hours, but eventually the star-studded field - featuring SCOOP Main Event champions, PokerStars Ambassadors and more - was whittled down to the final three tables.

Recap of the Day's Action

With such a huge field to start the day, big names were everywhere you look and some lasted longer than others. Former SCOOP Main Event champion Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi won't be adding to his collection of SCOOP titles after he was rivered from the tournament in the second level of the day.

Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford, Manig "swordfish007" Loeser, Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz, Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos, Niklas "Lena900" Astedt and PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas all followed Shakerchi out of the door.

Fellow Ambassador Fintan "easywithaces" Hand lasted a little longer, but was eliminated after clashing with the aces of Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo. That hand boosted Pardo into contention for the overall chip lead but he faded to bust with around 100 players remaining.

New Zealand's "DGR.POKEHER" was the first player to appear with an eight-figure stack, before being joined by "beagel 3". Eventual end-of-day chip leader "chininhaltig" had a spell at the top of the counts after scooping a 16.5 million chip pot from "DGR.POKEHER" when the Kiwi player turned a full house only for the German to hold quads.

This hand ensured "chininhaltig" would remain in contention from then on, with the German clinching the overall chip lead with the final elimination of the day.
