Life needs balanace, it can’t be all poker, all the time. To that end PokerStars threw a players party last night here at The Hippodrome Casino. It took place in the speakeasy themed Lola’s Underground Casino. A good time was had by all as PokerStars’ pictures show.
Chris Da Silva has just been eliminated and he talked us through what happened.
The real damage was done a couple of orbits ago with a small pot preflop and Da Silva came along in the small blind with pocket sixes. The flop was and when the original raiser checked a bet from the player on the button saw Da Silva call and the other player fold.
The turn was the and a check again from Da Silva saw his opponent bet 75,000. Da Silva moved all in and his opponent called and tabled and got up from his seat.
The river though had him sitting down again as the flush got there leaving Da Silva with 37,000.
He managed to run that up to 140,000 before his exit hand. He defend his big bling with Ten-Nine against an opener who had King-Seven. Da Silva hit a ten on the flop and was hoping to check-raise all in but the c-bet didn’t come.
A king came on the turn and Da Silva check-called on the turn and the six river to bust.
Da Silva was particularly disappointed as he felt he was playing well and had been on the same table all day. In jest he vowed to quit the game.
Joining the action on the flop, Naoufel Bennani-Smires bet 36,000 out of the small blind and Ludovic Geilich called from middle position. The fell on the turn and Bennani-Smires slowed down and checked. Geilich now fired a bet worth 74,000 and was called before doing so again on the river.
This time it was a hefty 148,000 and Bennani-Smires called only to muck when being shown for a pair of aces. Geilich has a monster stack and Muhaket Perati one table over is not far behind.
The action started with a raise by Andreas Anastasiades and Jose Astima called. Liv Boeree then three-bet out of the big blind and Anastasiades folded, Astima four-bet shoved from the button for just under 400,000. Boeree called for less and took a big flip.
Liv Boeree:

The flop came and Boeree smiled, then said "that is not a good start." It was all over after the turn, and the meaningless river completed the board.
Alexandre Poulain opened from the button and called the shove of short stack Jordan Conroy out of the big blind with . Conroy had the and the board came to see Conroy double.
Soon after he shoved the cutoff and Lucy Gamble reshoved from the button to force out the blinds.

The board ran out and Conroy was sent to the rail in 78th place.
Ludovic Geilich’s table has broken so now he is introducing his new table to his huge stack and raising a good number of hands. He won’t always have it his own way though.
Geilich raised to 18,000 under the gun and got called by Hermann Behrens in the big blind.
The flop was and Behrens shoved for around 120,000. Geilich mucked.
