"Ooh La La!" Jean-Noel Thorel Eliminated in Monster Pot

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Kfir Ivgi opened for 25,000 and his neighbor Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 100,000. It folded back to Ivgi and he called to see a flop.

Ivgi checked on {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Thorel instantly shoved for 400,000 even.

Ivgi was dumbfounded, smiled, and asked for a count. When he heard how much it was, he started talking. He used a time bank card and reasoned through the hand.

"Maybe you have queens," Ivgi said.

"Maybe" Thorel answered.

"But then I still win," Ivgi continued. "Why so much? It makes no sense!" Ivgi said.

Thorel just laughed and repeated answering "Maybe" when Ivgi told him his thoughts.

After about 25 seconds, Ivgi just slammed a couple of green 25,000-chips in the middle.

Kfir Ivgi: {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Thorel was on the verge of scoring a huge double, the {5-Spades} on the turn was still good for him. The {K-Diamonds} on the river, though, wasn't and all he could mutter was "Ai! Ooh la la" as he made his way to the payout.

Peters Doubles With Aces

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

We found David Peters all in from the big blind for 263,000, at risk against Christopher Kruk.

Kruk: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Peters: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The board was pretty sweat-free for Peters: {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. He doubled up.

Davy Doubles Through Kisacikoglu

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu shoved on the button to put both blinds at risk and Guillaume Pau Davy woke up with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and called off in the small. Kisacikoglu had {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and flopped nada on {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. He did turn equity with the {q-Hearts} but he bricked the {3-Spades} river.

Tang Eliminates Lam

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Benoit Lam shoved on the button.

"How much is it?" Danny Tang asked while trying to order something from the waitress. "I'm probably calling."

He did call for 114,000 and showed down {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} against {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The board ran out {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, clean for Tang.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Unfortunately, we were just too late to catch all the details. David Peters told us the following:

Sam Greenwood opened under the gun and big blind Christopher Kruk defended. Kruk check-raised on {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Greenwood called. Kruk shoved on the {Q-Clubs} turn and Greenwood called.

Kruk showed {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Greenwood tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. The river {9-Hearts} was good for Kruk, Greenwood eliminated.

Nines Good to Ensan Again

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Antoine Saout
Antoine Saout

In what looked to be a three-bet, three-way pot, Antoine Saout pushed all in from early position for 141,000 on a {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop. Hossein Ensan called him on the button and it was heads up to showdown.

Ensan: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Saout: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Ensan had again gotten lucky with nines after doubling earlier when he turned quads versus Jake Cody's top set of queens. The turn and river were {10-Spades} and {6-Clubs} and Saout took his payout ticket.

Reixach Eliminates Riess

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess bet 45,000, leaving 1,000 behind. Sergi Reixach called on the button and the blinds mucked. Riess used his whole 30 seconds and checked, trying to drag down the pace as much as possible on the pay jump. The flop had come {k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Reixach set him in for the last 1,000 and Riess used to two time extensions and then called, seeing players all in at other tables.

Riess: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Reixach: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Reixach had outflopped him and the {8-Diamonds} turn and {q-Spades} river sealed Riess' fate as he missed the jump. Unfortunately for him, the other players at the table informed him, he actually had about 45 seconds left before his hand was dead, which he lamented afterward.

Greenwood Doubles Through Wigg

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

When we arrived, Sam Greenwood (big blind) had checked to Anton Wigg (cutoff) on {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Wigg bet 10,000 and Greenwood check-raised to 36,000. Wigg shoved and Greenwood called for 143,000 total.

Sam Greenwood: {K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Anton Wigg: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and {9-Spades} on the river were blanks and Greenwood doubled.
