Hands #89-94: Sorensson Survives With a Chop

Nível 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #89: Raffaele Sorrentino completed the small blind with {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Lachezar Petkov made it 1.7 million with {q-}{10-} and won the pot.

Hand #90: Petkov looked at {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} in the small blind and jammed. Andre Akkari mucked something with a {4-Clubs}.

Hand #91: Petkov shoved on the button with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and won the pot.

Hand #92: Petkov shipped again with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and again got it through.

Hand #93: Petkov made it 1.1 million with {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Sebastian Sorensson ripped it with {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for just 4,075,000, so Petkov called.

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}, meaning it was a chop.

Hand #94: Sorensson called with {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} in the cutoff and Brian Kaufman made it 1,350,000 on the button with {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. That was enough to chase the blinds away, but Sorensson jammed and won the pot.

Hands #84-88: Sorrentino Extends His Lead

Nível 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #84: On the button, Brian Kaufman raised to 1,050,000 with {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Lachezar Petkov went all in with {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} from the big blind for 8,350,000. Kaufman folded his inferior ace.

Hand #85: Raffaele Sorrentino raised with {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to 1,100,000 on the button. Andre Akkari defended his big blind with {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

The flop was {Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and both players quickly checked. The {8-Clubs} on the turn filled Sorrentino's straight to earn him the check mark. Akkari checked, Sorrentino bet 1,000,000, and Akkari folded.

Hand #86: Akkari limped in with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} from the small blind and Sebastian Sorensson checked {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Akkari flopped a set on {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades} and both players checked. Akkari bet 1,150,000 on the turn but didn't get any action.

Hand #87: Sorrentino raised to 1,050,000 with {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} under the gun. Petkov picked up {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} on the cutoff and shoved all in for 9,500,000. Sorensson folded {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} in the small blind after some thought and Sorrentino folded as well.

Hand #88: Akkari folded {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} in the cutoff. Sorensson limped the button in with {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Kaufman completed {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Sorrentino checked {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Sorensson bet 1,600,000 on the {8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop after two checks. Sorrentino check-shoved his trey-high flush draw, putting Sorensson to the test for his last 5 million in chips.

"I really want to hero-call you," Sorensson said, whose poker radar was spot on.

After thinking for more than three minutes, the Swede opted to fold his hand and Sorrentino extended his lead.

Hands #79-83: Sorrentino Doubles on the River

Nível 36 : 250,000/500,000, 50,000 ante
Raffaele_Sorrentino
Raffaele_Sorrentino

Hand #79: Andre Akkari opened to 1.1 million under the gun with {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and got flatted by big blind Lachezar Petkov with {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Petkov checked after flopping top set on {5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Akkari fired in 900,000 and Petkov continued to keep the pot on the small side with a call. Both checked when a {7-Spades} hit, bringing an {a-Hearts}.

Petkov checked and Akkari waved the white flag.

Hand #80: Brian Kaufman opened for 1,050,000 with {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} in the cutoff. Akkari put in the requisite calling chips with {a-Spades}{6-Hearts} in the big blind. Akkari paired when {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades} hit, keeping his lead. Check-check and a {7-Spades} hit. Akkari checked again and Kaufman wanted to see another free one: {3-Spades}. Akkari checked a third time and Kaufman put in 1.3 million, winning the pot when Akkari folded.

Hand #81: Petkov raised all in on the button with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and swept up the blinds and antes.

Hand #82: Petkov came in raising with 1.1 million in the cutoff with {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Akkari was dealt {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} on the button and three-bet to 2,775,000. Petkov considered things and mucked.

Hand #83: Akkari opened to 1.1 million in the cutoff with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Raffaele Sorrentino shoved all in with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for 7.1 million in the big blind.

The {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} kept things clean for Akkari. A {2-Hearts} turn did nothing for the Italian. However, the {a-Hearts} popped off the deck to give Sorrentino the double and keep him live for a second PokerStars Championship title.

Lachezar Petkov

Hand #71: Rafaello Sorrentino raised to 1,300,000 under the gun with {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Brian Kaufman shoved 5,100,000 with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Sorrentino snap-called.

Kaufman doubled up on a {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{K-Clubs} rundown, turning Sorrentino into the shortest stack.

Hand #72: Kaufman shoved with {Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} from the small blind and Sorrentino folded the big blind.

Hand #73: Andre Akkari got a walk.

Hand #74: Sorrentino shoved 4,900,000 with {J-Clubs}{9-Spades} on the button and the blinds folded.

Hand #75: Not shown due to segment on stream

Hand #76: Lachezar Petkov shoved 5,500,000 from the cutoff with {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and everyone folded.

Hand #77: Akkari raised to 1,100,000 with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} from the cutoff and won the hand.

Hand #78: Another 1,100,000 raise from Akkari, this time with {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Petkov slowplayed his {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and just called from the big blind.

Petkov flopped huge on {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and checked. Akkari continued with 900,000 and Petkov called.

The {7-Spades} on the turn gave Petkov a mortal lock on the hand and he checked. Akkari checked behind. The {A-Hearts} on the river completed some draws out there and both players checked again.

Hands #62-70: Kaufman Doubles Before Break

Nível 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #62: Andre Akkari raised to 800,000 in the cutoff with {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Nobody put up any resistance.

Hand #63: Akkari, looking to keep pushing, made it 800,000 with {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and got action from Raffaele Sorrentino and his {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} in the small blind. Sorrentino check-folded on the {3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop.

Hand #64: Sorensson opened things with a limp holding {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Lachezar Petkov completed with {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Akkari checked the {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Everyone flopped a piece on {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Akkari bet 575,000 and got called by Sorensson and Petkov. The turn brought a {7-Diamonds} and a round of checks, so a {j-Spades} hit. Three checks followed and the sixes took it.

Hand #65: Akkari completed the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Sorensson checked with {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}. The board read {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Spades} on fourth and Akkari bet 600,000. Sorensson called. The river was a {6-Diamonds} and Akkari bet 1,375,000. Sorensson tanked a couple of minutes and paid off.

Hand #66: Kaufman received a walk with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Hand #67: Akkari opened {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and won the pot, with Sorensson mucking pocket threes.

Hand #68: Akkari opened with {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} to 875,000 under the gun. Kaufman stuck it in with {k-Spades}{6-Spades} for his last 1,830,000, except he dropped some chips early on accident and it was just most of it. Akkari put the rest in.

The {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop meant a near certain double, and the {a-Clubs} did make for a sweat on the turn. Akkari rooted for a ten with his rail but a {5-Diamonds} fell.

Hand #69: Sorrentino raised with the {9-Clubs} in his hand on the button and Akkari defended with {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop meant Sorrentino nailed the flop, and he bet 750,000 and won the pot.

Hand #70: Kaufman opened under the gun with {q-Clubs}{9-Spades} to 1 million. Everyone folded and the players went to break for 20 minutes.

Hands #58-61: Akkari Cracks Two Pairs of Kings

Hand #58: Sebastian Sorensson opened to 925,000 with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} from the cutoff. Lachezar Petkov gave up {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} in the big blind.

Hand #59: Sorensson was reaching again and to 850,000 from under the gun with {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Behind him, Brian Kaufman also picked up {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} and just called with an 11 big blind stack. Akkari also jumped in from the big blind with {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

The ace hit on the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop and all players checked. The {2-Hearts} on the turn gave Akkari a flush draw and he checked. Sorensson bet 1,250,000 with kings, Kaufman called with the other kings, and Akkari got a decent enough price to peel another street.

The {6-Hearts} on the river completed the runner-runner flush for Akkari and all players checked. The Team PokerStars Pro cracked both pocket kings with eight-four and raked in the pot under thunderous amounts of cheers from the rail.

Hand #60: Sorrentino raised {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} to 825,000 from the cutoff and Sorensson defended {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Both players flopped a pair on the {8-Clubs}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop and Sorensson opted to lead out for 950,000. Sorrentino made the call in position.

Sorensson spiked the {A-Spades} he needed on the turn and took a commanding lead in the hand. He checked and Sorrentino quickly checked behind.

On the {2-Spades} river, Sorensson bet 1,675,000 with the best hand and Sorrentino called without hesitation, losing some chips in the process.

Hand #61: Petkov open-shoved 7,700,000 with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} from the cutoff. Sorensson called from the small blind with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and the two chopped it up after the {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop.

Hands #50-57: Sorrentino Doubles Through Kaufman

Nível 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante
Raffaele_Sorrentino
Raffaele_Sorrentino

Hand #50: Raffaele Sorrentino raised to 800,000 and won the pot preflop.

Hand #51: Lachezar Petkov raised in the cutoff to 825,000 with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Brian Kaufman seemed to think hard about defending big blind but mucked.

Hand #52: Action folded to the blinds, where Kaufman completed with {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Sorrentino jammed it in for 6.3 million with {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and won the pot.

Hand #53: Kaufman opened on the button for 850,000 and won with {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}.

Hand #54: Petkov had the {a-Clubs} and an unknown card and completed, and Andre Akkari checked with {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. The {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Spades} flop prompted a bet from Petkov, and Akkari folded right away.

Hand #55: Sorrentino picked up {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and crammed for 7,025,000 in the cutoff. Everyone behind him mucked.

Hand #56: Action folded to the blinds, where Sebastian Sorensson bumped it up with {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Big blind Kaufman mucked {7-}{3-}.

Hand #57: Kaufman got {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and shipped all in from the small blind for just under 8 million effective. Sorrentino woke up with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. The {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and {7-Hearts} turn meant the pot could be chopped. The {9-Clubs} wasn't a card that would do it though.
