Giovanni Zanette Bubbles Day 1a of PokerNews Cup
Nível 18
: Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Giovanni Zanette opened to 20,000 from early position and was called by James Budelier from the small blind.
Budelier checked on the 5♥4♥3♠ flop, prompting Zanette to fire for 60,000, leaving just 24,000 behind. Budelier jammed as the big stack and Zanette called for his tournament life.
"I have a lot of outs," said Zanette as the cards were tabled.
Giovanni Zanette: 8♥6♥
James Budelier: 9♣9♦
Budelier was ahead with his overpair but Zanette was alive with his open-ended straight draw and flush draw.
The 10♣ turn kept Budelier ahead and the Q♠ river confirmed Zanette's exit as the bubble boy.
Day 1a has now closed with 63 players advancing through to Day 2.
