Nikolay Karman Busts Two in a Row

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Bartel Kars reentered and then got his last 15,000 chips in with the {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Nikolay Karman looked him up with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and the board ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

Only two hands later, the flop was showing {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Alain Riss bet 5,000. Karman raised big and Riss then got his stack in with the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Karman called with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for bottom set. The {6-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river failed to improve Riss and he left the table with comments in French.

Small Pot for Aleksei Ivanov

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

For quite some time, Aleksei Ivanov has been nursing a short stack. In a three-way pot out of the big blind, he faced the bet of 2,000 by Thomas Zurek in the small blind on the {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and called, the button also came along.

On the {2-Hearts} turn, Zurek bet 4,000 and just Ivanov called. Both players checked the {6-Clubs} river and Zurek showed {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Ivanov claimed the pot with {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Ričardas Vymeris Takes the Lead

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With around 55,000 in the pot and the board reading {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, Mathias Busse moved all in for around the size of the pot. Ričardas Vymeris quickly called and Busse was in dire need of help with {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for two pair, as Vymeris rolled over {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines.

The {10-Diamonds} river was a blank and that shipped the pot to the Lithuanian, who also took the lead.

No Chip and a Chair Miracle for Bruce Balboa

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After losing a flip with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} against {A-Spades}{8-Spades} on a board of {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, Bruce Balboa was left with less than two big blinds. He survived one hand but then busted soon after, heading straight over to the cash game section.

156 Entries for Day 1a

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The registration closed with the start of level 12 and 156 entries put the Main Event of the PokerNews Cup in great shape to meet the guarantee of €200,000, as another three starting days remain. With two levels to go for the night, only one third of the field remains though, as the screens currently show 54 left.

Tony Veille Eliminated in Three-Way All In

Nível 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Ronny Voth raised to 5,400 and Tony Veille moved all in for around 27,000 from one seat over in the cutoff. Out of the small blind, Marc Andre Fürstenau also announced all in and the action then reached Lukasz Kubicki. He moved in to create a three-way showdown already, Voth quickly got out of the way.

Veille: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Fürstenau: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Kubicki: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and the pair of kings held up for Fürstenau, who busted Veille and doubled through Kubicki for 43,800.

Quincy Chun Eliminated by Ronny Voth

Nível 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Quincy Chun
Quincy Chun

Quincy Chun raised from under the gun and called a three-bet to 14,000 by Ronny Voth from two seats over. On the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} flop, Chun bet 15,000 with another 32,000 behind and Voth moved all in. Chun called it off and found himself in kicker trouble.

Chun: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Voth: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Neither the {5-Diamonds} turn nor the {4-Hearts} river changed anything and Chun has been eliminated, while Voth joins the bigger stacks.
