Patrick Antonius raised it up on the button and Stephen Chidwick defended from the big blind. The flop came and Chidwick check-called a bet from Antonius.
The turn brought the and Chidwick checked again. Antonius counted out a bet of 80,000 and Chidwick stuck around to see the on the river.
After being checked to for the third time, Antonius ripped all in for around 200,000 and Chidwick snapped him off. Antonius tabled for a pair of aces but Chidwick made a straight with to send Antonius packing.
Justin Bonomo opened to 24,000 on the button and Sean Winter moved all in from the small blind for around 85,000. Bonomo called with a bigger stack.
Sean Winter:
Justin Bonomo:
Winter had his opponent dominated and nothing changed as the board ran out to earn him the double.
The next hand, the now short-stacked Bonomo was all in and at risk against Daniel Dvoress in the small blind.
Justin Bonomo:
Daniel Dvoress:
The flop landed to give Bonomo the lead but left Dvoress plenty of outs with an open-ended straight draw. The board then finished out to improve Bonomo to a full house and the all-time money leader secured the double.
Mikita Badziakouski was down to just 1,000 moments ago but was in the process of a highly unlikely spin-up. The action folded to David Yan in the small blind who ripped all in. Badziakouski called off his last 44,000 in the big blind and the cards were tabled.
Mikita Badziakouski:
David Yan:
The board ran out and Badziakouski made the only pair of deuces to make his way back to 100,000 chips.
However, it was short-lived as on the very next hand, Badziakouski collided with Mike Watson who was in the big blind. On a completed board of , Watson moved all in on the river and Badziakouski looked him up. Watson showed for a flush and Badziakouski was eliminated.
Mikita Badziakouski was down to just a fraction of a big blind and was all in in a four-way pot that saw a flop of .
Aleksejs Ponakovs and Adrian Mateos both checked on the flop and Seth Davies bet 55,000. Ponakovs called and Mateos folded. Ponakovs checked again on the turn and Davies fired for 160,000. Ponakovs folded and the cards were flipped.
Mikita Badziakouski:
Seth Davies:
Badziakouski was drawing to just a gutshot and it looked like lights out for the Belarusian. However, the dealer then put down the on the river to earn Badziakouski the unlikely pot, while Davies took down a decent side pot.
It will still be an uphill battle for Badziakouski as the main pot got him to just over a single big blind.
Dan Smith managed to chip up a bit when he called a raise in the big blind from Ben Heath in the cutoff and then check-jammed the flop over Heath's continuation bet.
The next hand, Heath opened to 24,000 and Smith three-bet jammed from the small blind. Heath called with a bigger stack.
Dan Smith:
Ben Heath:
Smith was in good shape as the flop landed and the turn didn't change things. Smith only had to dodge an ace with one card to come, but he couldn't do it as the river brought the to mark his elimination.
That's not the first river card today that has doomed Smith. Less than an hour prior, he lost nearly his whole stack when he was one-outed by Juan Pardo, who held pocket nines and hit a nine on the river to double through Smith's pocket tens.
Dan Smith raised to 21,000 from the cutoff and Juan Pardo shipped all in for 266,000 in the big blind. Smith quickly called and the cards were face up on the felt.
Juan Pardo:
Dan Smith:
Smith held a big lead with the larger of the two pocket pairs. The flop of was safe for Smith and so was the on the turn. However, the rolled off on the river and Pardo scored a double-up.
"I folded a nine," Cary Katz piped up, letting Pardo know that he spiked a one-outer.
Sergio Aido had just over 16 big blinds to start the hand and moved all in for 166,000 in the hijack. Sirzat Hissou was next to act and stuck in the last of his chips as well.
Sergio Aido:
Sirzat Hissou:
The board ran out and Aido's pair of fives held on to double through Hissou, who was left with just 1,000 chips after the hand. A couple of minutes later, Hissou was seen exiting the tournament area.
Bryn Kenney opened to 17,000 in middle position and Dan Smith flat-called on the button, while Ben Heath also came along from the big blind.
Heath checked on the flop of and Kenney continued for 16,000. Smith called and Heath got out of the way. Kenney then bet 32,000 on the turn and Smith called.
Kenney slowed down on the river and Smith announced a bet of 88,000. Kenney sighed and stretched as he exhausted three of his time banks. Eventually, he called.
"Ace-jack," announced Smith before showing , leading Kenney to muck as he was left with crumbs.
Just a few hands later, Kenney open-jammed from under the gun and was called by the bigger-stacked Juan Pardo in the small blind.
Bryn Kenney:
Juan Pardo:
Kenney had run into kings to be drawing thin and received no help from the runout to mark his elimination. It is unlikely any tears were shed by other players in the event as the second all-time money leader was accused last year of running an online cheating ring.
Elsewhere, fellow American high-stakes pro Nick Petrangelo was eliminated.
Isaac Haxton opened to 17,000 on the button and Dan Fleyshman quickly three-bet jammed for 147,000 from the small blind. Haxton called with a bigger stack after confirming a count.
Dan Fleyshman:
Isaac Haxton:
Fleyshman had just doubled up in a flip and was looking to do it again. The flop of teased Fleyshman as it paired his ace while Haxton had flopped a set to have his opponent drawing very thin.
The on the turn gave Haxton a full house before the rolled off to mark Fleyshman's elimination.
