Lehne Sends Katz to the Rail

Nível 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz was all-in for 34,000 from under the gun and David Yan called in the cutoff. Kathy Lehne also came along in the big blind as well. Following a {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop on which Lehne bet 25,000, Katz joked "I check" before Yan called.

The {3-Hearts} turn was checked and Lehne checked the {k-Diamonds} on the river.

Yan now bet 30,000 and Lehne called after which Katz immediately remarked "eight is good" before exposing his {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Yan indeed had an eight in his hand with the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} but Lehne won the pot with the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

More for Dvoress; Fumes for Katz

Nível 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Henrik Hecklen
Henrik Hecklen

In a battle of the blinds with preflop raising chips pulled into the middle already, the flop showed {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Daniel Dvoress checked and chip leader Aleksejs Ponakovs bet 24,000. Dvoress then check-raised to 63,000 and that forced a fold from Ponakovs.

Over on table three, Henrik Hecklen bet the {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop for 25,000 and Cary Katz moved all-in via double fist push. The instant call by Hecklen followed and Katz was stunned.

"That was way too fast," he said in table chat while Hecklen replied with a rather dry "I just have to".

Henrik Hecklen: {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Cary Katz: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The {3-Spades} turn changed nothing yet while one player at the table remarked "too many outs". That was indeed the case as the {6-Spades} river completed a straight for Hecklen. The Dane doubled for 127,000 to leave Katz with fewer than three big blinds.

Holz and Haxton Get Shoves Through

Nível 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Fedor Holz defended the big blind to then move all-in after a {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} turn, forcing a fold from Isaac Haxton in the under-the-gun position.

In the very next hand, Seth Davies raised the button and Haxton defended his big blind, too. The flop brought {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Haxton opted to check. Davies bet 30,000 and quickly folded to Haxton's shove.

Poker Player Busts from WSOP Circuit King's Main Event in a Chop Pot; No One Caught It!

Nível 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Hand
Hand

You can chalk this one up in the "never seen that before" poker category. Pierre Kauert busted in sixth place in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at King's Casino on...get this...a heads-up chop pot.

Yes, that's right, he became the first player ever, at least on a live stream, to be eliminated from a tournament in a hand he didn't actually lose. No one, not even the announcers, caught the mistake, and by the time it was discovered the pot should have been chopped, it was too late.

"It does fall under player and dealer responsibility and cannot really do anything about it at this point. If it wasn’t live streamed it would never have been realized and so we just move on," World Poker Tour's Executive Tour Director Matt Savage, who was not associated with the event, explained to PokerNews when asked how he would have proceeded.

See how the hand went down here!

Chips Upon Chips for Petrangelo

Nível 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On the tail end of a larger heads-up pot between Fedor Holz and Nick Petrangelo, the latter had the best of it with {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} on the {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} to win one of the largest pots of the day thus far.

As the chips were pushed to him, he also received a sandwich and fries delivered to the table

Dan Smith opened the action with a raise to 21,000 and Bryn Kenney jammed for 154,000 out of the blinds. It folded back to Smith, who asked for an exact count and declared "I call" a few seconds later.

Bryn Kenney: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Dan Smith: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop kept Kenney ahead but Smith leaped ahead with the {q-Spades} turn. Needing a spade or ace to survive, Kenney bricked the {6-Diamonds} on the river and the field was down to the last 17 contenders.

Hecklen Doubles Through Yan

Nível 15 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Henrik Hecklen was all-in with a short stack of just 64,000 and he received a call from David Yan to set up the following showdown.

Henrik Hecklen: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
David Yan: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop gave Hecklen top pair while Yan had an open-ended straight draw and one overcard.

Nothing changed with the {4-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river as Hecklen remained in contention.
