Picasso Triples Up

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Francisco Picasso was all-in for a mere 3,100 and Yuri Dzivielevski reraised to 5,300 in the hijack. Anton Astapau then four-bet to 13,000 in the cutoff and was called by Dzivielevski. The two active players checked the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and the {6-Spades} turn paired the board. Dzivielevski bet 9,000 and Astapau folded.

Francisco Picasso: {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Yuri Dzivielevski: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The diamonds were no good for Picasso and he instead spiked the {9-Spades} river to triple up.

Back to the Drawing Board for Nolet After Clash With Greenwood

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

In a pot of just 14,000 and a board of {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}, Sam Greenwood opted to check. Guillaume Nolet bet 7,500 on the button, then Greenwood check-raised to 43,900 total with only 400 chips left behind.

Nolet tanked for two minutes then called and Greenwood revealed {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush to drag in a very healthy pot in the late stages of Day 1a.

Sitbon Hits 100K

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

Julien Sitbon opened to 2,200 from under the gun and only Arthur Conan called from the big blind.

Conan check-called for 1,600 and 7,000 on the flop and turn for the final board to show {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Both players checked back the river to showdown.

Conan tabled his {a-}{4-} for a pair of aces but was outkicked as Sitbon had the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for the best hand.

Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

James Rose opened from under the gun before Lex Veldhuis jammed for 12,500 from the big blind. Rose called to put the PokerStars ambassador at risk of elimination.

Lex Veldhuis: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
James Rose: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Veldhuis was in bad shape as both of his suits were covered and he was drawing to two immediate outs.

No nine appeared on the {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} runout and confirmed Veldhuis' exit.

Kornuth Runs Bad and Loses an All-In

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Roger Teska stuck his last 5,600 in preflop and earned a call by Chance Kornuth in the small blind, who held the far covering stack.

Roger Teska: {k-Spades}{4-Spades}
Chance Kornuth: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop kept Kornuth ahead but Teska improved with the {4-Clubs} turn. Nothing changed on the {5-Hearts} river as Teska avoided elimination for now.

"You run so good. I never lost that all-in before," Kornuth said and another player at the table inquired if that was a joke. "No, I am serious," Kornuth acknowledged.

Nicholas Marchington: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Dustin Dirksen: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Hudon Scores a Double

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Down to a mere 6,500, Eliot Hudon moved all-in and was looked up by Rayan Chamas.

Hudon had the best of it with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} versus {a-Clubs}{8-Spades} and there was no miracle upset on the {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} runout.

Cornell Gets a Double

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

John Krpan opened to 2,000 from early position and was called by Vladas Tamasauskas from the cutoff. Tyler Cornell then jammed for 11,000 from the big blind. Krpan moved in over the top which folded out Tamasauskas.

Tyler Cornell: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
John Krpan: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Cornell was in great shape for a double and his chances of doing so increased after pairing his jack on the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. The {9-Diamonds} turn kept Krpan in contention, however, the {7-Clubs} completed the board and Cornell raked in the pot.

Cimbolas Can't Fold the Aces

Nível 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

There was 9,800 in the pot. Matas Cimbolas was in the cutoff against Anton Astapau on the button.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and action checked through.

The {q-Hearts} was the turn and Cimbolas bet 5,000. Astapau called.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and Cimbolas bet 5,000 again. Astapau postured before moving all in for 18,700 effective covering Cimbolas. Cimbolas went into the tank for several minutes before making the call. Cimbolas was met with bad news as Astapau turned over {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the nut flush to eliminate Cimbolas who had {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.
