Titov Leads, Heroes Fall, and Ha Wins a Platinum Pass on Day 2 of the PCA Main Event

Nível 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Oleg Titov - Current Chip Leader of the PCA Main Event

Day 2 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event has come to a close and after five more levels of play it's Oleg Titov who is leading the way. Titov bagged up 493,000 over the course of the day and eliminated serveral players, including the likes of Bryn Kenney who fell just before the last break of the night. Titov would be looking for his biggest cash ever in the PCA Main Event, with his previously recorded all-time high being $51,111 two years ago at the EPT Barcelona.

There were 341 players to begin the day, but at it's close, 101 players remained, leaving them just a few spots shy of the money bubble. The bubble is very likely to break early on Day 3. Plenty of heroes and fan favorites fell today, including the likes of Maurice Hawkins, Connor Drinan, Christopher Kruk, Nick Petrangelo, Mike Wang, Matt Glantz, Steve O'Dwyer, Mike Leah, Mutapha Kanit, Jason Koon, and Bryn Kenney to name a few.

Another one to bow up was defending champion Christian Harder. Harder found himself all in and at risk against two other players holding ace-jack while his opponents were holding pocket nines and pocket queens. Harder was able to pair his jack, but it wasn't enough to earn him the pot and he was eliminated from the tournament in the second level of the day.

One of the other exciting storylines from the day involves Thai Ha, one of the biggest stacks coming out of Day 1. All Main Event Day 2 participants had the chance today to win their own $30,000 Platinum Pass, which includes a $25,000 buy-in to the inaugural 2019 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship, along with accommodation and expenses. It was Ha who was awarded the Pass by winning a blind hand dealt among the players at his table. Ha rivered trip eights to take down the Pass, joining the likes of Friend of PokerStars Maria Konnikova, who received a Pass earlier this week by winning the $1,650 National Championship.

There are still plenty of notables and recognaizable faces returning on Thursday, including Konnikova among others. Konnikova (266,500) late registered this event as she was busy winning the $1,650 National Championship during the first few days of registration. Others returning tomorrow include Adrian Mateos (358,000), David Peters (327,000), Maria Lampropulos (299,500), Koray Aldemir (256,000), Chris Hunichen (166,000), Liv Boeree (96,000), Harrison Gimbel(99,000), Joao Simao (90,500), Ivan Luca (77,000), Barry Greenstein (69,000) and Kevin MacPhee (38,500).

The remaining players return tomorrow at noon at level 14 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 with an ante of 500. PokerNews will be on the floor to cover all the action and updates from Day 3 onwards, so make sure to stay tuned so you don't miss a thing.
