The River Favors Petrangelo More

Nível 4 : 200/500, 500 ante

Chris Johnson raised to 1,200 from middle position and was called by Nick Petrangelo on the button along with the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} and the action checked to Petrangelo who bet 1,500. The big blind folded and Johnson stuck around to see the {7-Hearts} on the turn.

Both players checked to the {8-Hearts} on the river and Johnson checked again. Petrangelo placed a bet of 30,000 and Johnson quickly called for his last 16,000 roughly. Petrangelo rolled over {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a rivered flush while Johnson rivered a straight with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Unfortunately for Johnson, his tournament ended and Petrangelo stacked his chips.

Seidel Can't Catch Up

Nível 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

With around 5,000 in the middle and the board reading {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, the action was on Mike Watson in the hijack. He made a bet of 3,600 and Erik Seidel called from the big blind.

The river brought the {a-Clubs} and slowed down all of the action. Both players checked and Seidel showed {8-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a pair of eights and a missed straight draw. Watson turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} to pick up a small pot.

Update on the Comings and Goings

Nível 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

The chips are really starting to fly across the tables here early on Day 1 and some of the players haven't been fortunate enough to keep some in front of them.

Steve O'Dwyer, Jean-Noel Thorel, Jason Koon, and Xixiang Luo have all required a second bullet while Mike Leah has been eliminated and not yet came back.

New faces Dan Shak and Ramin Hajiyev have taken their seat.

There were about 13,000 chips already in the middle and the board read {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Timothy Adams bet 3,000 from the small blind, Vladimir Troyanovskiy called from the big blind, and Bryan Potashnik folded from the cutoff.

The {7-Diamonds} fell on the turn and both players checked.

The river brought the {4-Clubs} and Adams bet 5,000. Troyanovskiy raised to 19,000, sending Adams into the tank. He eventually folded and Troyanovskiy took the pot.

Short-Stacked O'Dwyer Drops

Nível 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

Steve O'Dwyer was down to his last 6,000 when he got it into the middle against Ben Yu.

O'Dwyer: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Yu: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

O'Dwyer was in rough shape and found no assistance from the {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts} board.

Sontheimer Stacks Koon

Nível 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

There were about 21,000 chips in the pot and the board read {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} when we got to the table. Jason Koon was on the button, had already committed a single T-5,000 chip, and was facing a decision for a total of 14,500 from Steffen Sontheimer, who was in the hijack. Koon jammed and Sontheimer quickly called to put Koon at risk.

Sontheimer: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Koon: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Sontheimer was way ahead with the bigger overpair and Koon needed help in order to stay alive. The {3-Diamonds} turn and {9-Spades} river changed nothing, so Sontheimer took the pot to send Koon to the rail.
