O'Dwyer Crosses 3 Million Chips

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer is the man to catch today. He just took down another massive pot while eliminating Steve Watts in the process.

On a {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} board he put Watts to the test for his stack. Watts called, committing his last 350,000 chips, only to be shown a full house by O'Dwyer. The {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} was more than enough to claim the pot, and Watts sent his {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} into the muck and hit the rail. That's the second time within the hour, that Watts was eliminated.

In other news: High Roller 10th place finisher Oliver Waters just took his seat in the Main Event. He faced a three-bet in his very first hand but decided to let it go.

O'Dwyer On Top

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer is bossing his table in the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Main Event, with a whopping 2.45 million chips to his name. Elsewhere on his table, partypoker ambassador Natalia Breviglieri has 680,000 after a difficult start and losing a big hand pre-flop to O'Dwyer.

Kelly Saxby is faring a lot better, however. She's up to 1.2 million having bought into Day 1 after suffering defeat at the hands of some of the toughest players in the game yesterday during a Phase 1 attempt where she had 250,000 chips and was mostly playing professionals with millions of dollars of tournament wins and a million chips each from late registrations and direct buy-ins.

"It's a lot easier today with a million chips." she told us, "I'm having a much better time."

Kings No Good for Hall

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Tom Hall - High Roller Final Table
Tom Hall - High Roller Final Table

Tom Hall started the day battling it out at the £10,300 High Roller final table, but ultimately had to be content with a third place finish good for £142,000.

Hall didn't waste much time wallowing as he dipped straight into the Main Event, but couldn't seem to get anything going, and he was eliminated just before the dinner break.

Hall got in it with {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} on a {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop against the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} of Vojtech Skalak, and though he did manage to dodge the flushdraw, he ended up falling to the backdoor straight of Skalak as the board ran out {7-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}.

Chip Counts on Notables in the Upper Tier

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With almost 400 runners still going at it this partypoker Live Millions Main Event, the players are having their one hour dinner break in groups. Half the field are just about now making it back with their bellies full, while the other half are waiting impatiently to get their turn at the buffet.

Among the notables on the upper tier (the last group of players to eat) is Niall Farrell, who's really been at it this last hour. He has managed to make the most of his cards, and is up to 1.75 million chips.

Simpson Running Cold

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Ian Simpson had hovered around a million chips for two levels on a fun table including tennis legend Boris Becker. He was hardly getting involved and just chipping up steadily by firing out the odd uncalled three-bet.

"It all changed!" he told us. "I ran the nut flush into a straight flush. I was all-in, so I lost all I could."

Despite the early hit, Simpson still has 30 big blinds and will be fighting hard to get back into contention for a place in Day 2.

Eames and Clark

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

John Eames and Jon Clark aren't just sharing the table, but a few feet of space, sitting right next to each other in the Dusk Till Dawn marquee.

In what was a very big pot already, 700,000 sat in the middle on a board of {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} . Eames bet 360,000 and that was enough to get Jon Clark to lay it down. In what was a crucial pot, can Eames reverse the seating power and take advantage of it against another talented player in Jon Clark?

Watts Busted in Massive Pot

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Steve Watts told us about his exit hand after getting into a raising war against his eventual conqueror.

"We'd been going at each other, but he bet 30,000 on the flop of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}. I raised to 90,000, he made it 220,000 and when I shoved he called. I had {Q-}{10-} and he had {J-}{9-}. He hit the king on the turn. There was 1.5million in the pot."

An inglorious end for Watts, but he has the option of a single re-entry on the day, or even a late registration early on tomorrow's Day 2.

Kitty Kuo Lives to Fight Another Day

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Kitty Kuo made it 30,000 to go from the cutoff and matched the reraise of 76,000 from Usman Siddique on the button. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Kitty Kuo check-raised Siddique's bet of 62,000 to 140,000 total. Siddique called.

Kuo slowed down again on the {7-Hearts} turn, but still called when Siddique fired 190,000. She wouldn't play along when Siddique emptied the clip for 422,400 on the {8-Spades} river, and folded to preserve her remaining 800,000 chips.

Anthony Gardner Finds Miracle King

Nível 23 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Anthony Gardner
Anthony Gardner

No more than a month ago the former professional footballer Anthony Gardner (of Tottenham Hotspur fame) secured his first live poker title, as he won the £100,000 guaranteed DTD200 right here at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham. He's looking to secure yet another scalp at this partypoker Live Millions Main Event, but he needed a very lucky king on the river to keep his dreams of an encore intact.

On a {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop Gardner bet 65,000, opponent Karol Radomski made it 165,000 to go before Gardner moved all-in for around 400,000. Radomski instantly called with {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}, and they were a mile or two ahead of Gardner's {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. The {6-Hearts} turn changed nothing, but just as Gardner got up from his seat, the dealer burned and turned the {K-Clubs} to complete the board.

Gardner looked utterly disgusted with himself but did sink back into his seat as the pot was pushed towards him.
