Timothy Chung Doubles Up

Nível 1 : 2,500/5,000, 2,500 ante

The player under the gun raised to 17,000, the next player to act called, the hijack called, the cutoff called, and the button called. Timothy Chung three-bet to 100,000 out of the small blind, the original raiser called, the next player to act folded, and the hijack, cutoff, and button all called.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and action checked around to the button who bet 225,000. Chung check-raised all-in for what looked like about 700,000, the under-the-gun player folded, and the hijack and cutoff both folded, as well. The button went into the tank for about half a minute before he called to put Chung at risk.

Chung: {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Button: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Chung was way ahead with the flopped nuts and his opponent needed a lot of help from the deck in order to win the pot. The {Q-Spades} gave Chung a lock on the hand and he took the chips to double up after the {10-Clubs} fell on the river.

Welcome to the Caribbean Poker Party MILLIONS Open

Troy Quenneville
Troy Quenneville

The 2017 Caribbean Poker Party Festival presented by partypoker LIVE kicks off Friday in the stunning seaside town of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and the first item on the menu is the $1,100 buy-in MILLIONS Open. Players will begin with 1,000,000 starting chips and $1,000,000 is guaranteed.

There are four scheduled starting flights: one beginning at noon and another at 7:00 p.m. local time on Friday and Saturday. Play on Day 1 will consist of eight levels; the noon flights will have 60-minute levels and the evening flights will have 30-minute levels. Late entry and re-entry are available through the end of level 12. All surviving players will combine for Day 2 on Sunday and the eventual winner will be determined on Day 4.

It is noteworthy that the structure for each event in this tournament series utilizes button antes. Instead of each player at the table posting an ante every hand, the button posts the only ante at the table. From level 2 onward, the button ante is equal to the big blind. Blinds start at 2,500/5,000 with a 2,500-chip button ante.

Last year, just one partypoker LIVE event was held as part of the Caribbean Poker Party, and Canadian Troy Quenneville took it down for a $400,000 payday.

Keep it here for coverage of the MILLIONS Open and throughout the Caribbean Poker Party at The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical from the PokerNews Live Reporting team.
