Dia 1c Iniciado

Welcome to Day 1C of the Caribbean Poker Party Main Event!

The $5million guaranteed 2017 Caribbean Poker Party Main Event continues! The first flight of the $5,300 buy-in MILLIONS Event, which took place yesterday, saw 366 total entrants take part. Day 1B, which started at midday today, has just concluded, and attracted a total of 436 runners.

Now we start Day 1C, which is to be played out over eight 30-minute levels at The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. All of this flight's survivors will collaborate with the 232 runners that made it through yesterday, and 282 runners that got through today, for Day 2, starting tomorrow. The eventual winner will lift the trophy on Saturday 25th, having made their way through five days of poker.

Late registration and re-entry for this event will be available until the end of level 12, four hours into Day 2. We'll be with you the whole way to bring you updates throughout.

Deeb Gets Snuffed

Lots of small pots are scooped almost as soon as they're opened, but Iverson Snuffer managed to pick up a more sizeable one against Shaun Deeb.

After opening the action from the button to 28,000, Deeb called in the big blind to take us heads-up to a flop of {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Action quickly went check-check, as we saw the {a-Hearts} hit the turn. Deeb checked once again, before Snuffer fired out a bet of 50,000 which was quickly called.

The river brought the {6-Spades} and Deeb checked for a final time. Snuffer chooses to go for 120,000 this time, Deeb instantly flicked a chip in as Snuffer turned over {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a rivered two pair. A wry smile from Deeb as he showed {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a flopped two pair, before throwing them into the muck.

Paulo Piles It In

We join the action on a {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} board, in a hand between Jarek Artur and Paulo Anderson, with around 230,000 in the middle.

Anderson checked the action over to Artur, who continued for 75,000, before Anderson threw caution to the wind and shoved for his entire 741,000-chip stack. There was an understandable level of confusion on Artur's face, who thought for a minute or so, before finding a fold.

"Ace something of spades? Nothing else makes sense!" concluded Paul Zimbler, as Anderson dragged in the pot.

I Tried Bluffing Once

Paul Zimbler opened with a raise under the gun to 35,000, picking up Paulo Anderson in middle position and Jonathan Pearson next to act, with both blinds moving out of the way.

The dealer spread a {4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop, with Zimbler quickly continuing for 41,000. He raised his hand and opened his mouth but, before any words could come out, both players had quickly folded, and the pot was being pushed in his direction.

Zimbler then turned to the tournament director, "I tried bluffing once today," he took a sip of his drink, "and I'll probably do one more before the end of the night."

Deeb Gets Krafty

Action folded around to Florian [Removed:292] in the hijack, who raised it up to 40,000 before Shaun Deeb put in the 3-bet to 125,000 next to act. Both blinds folded, before [Removed:292] made the call and the two players took a {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop heads up.

Both players opted to check the flop, as well as the {a-Clubs} turn. After [Removed:292] checked a third time, on the {6-Diamonds} river, Deeb quickly put out a bet of 50,000 and immediately took the pot down.

"All of you bow down to Shaun!" came the cry from the rail. "Except you, sir, please accept my apologies," he continued, addressing The Cobra: Carl Froch.

Down But Not Out

With only two levels left to play, players are fighting it out to build a stack to take through to tomorrow's second day. Carl Froch, partypoker ambassador, might be king of the ring, but he'll need to prove his worth at the table to come back after losing most of his chip stack to Shaun Deeb.

The hand started with Froch raising to 32,000 from the button. The small blind 3-bet to 105,000 which caught Deeb's attention in the big blind as he studied his cards. He eventually called and Froch made the call too.

Three players took a flop of {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and action was checked to Froch. He bet out for 200,000, and after the small blind folded, Deeb moved all-in with his remaining 350,000. Froch thought about it for a long time, and eventually decided on a call to take us to showdown.

Deeb: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Froch: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Deeb managed to hold on, with the {8-Spades} turn {4-Spades} river runout providing no help to Froch.

Knockout

Carl Froch shook hands with the table before leaving

After the hand versus Shaun Deeb, Carl Froch found himself against the ropes, putting his last 200,000 in with {9-Spades}{6-Spades} on an {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop. Unfortunately for Froch, Josef Snejberg was on hand to make the call with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Snejberg just needed to fade five outs, which he reduced to two on the {q-Hearts} turn. The {10-Clubs} landed on the river, delivering the knockout blow to the partypoker ambassador. As Snejberg dragged in the pot, Froch shook hands with the table before leaving the tournament area.

[Removed:292] Towers

Shaun Deeb kicked the action off from under the gun, with a raise to 37,000. They went three ways to the flop, after a call from the player in middle position, Graham Carter on the button, and Florian [Removed:292] in the big blind.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and the action checked over to Carter. He put out a bet of 80,000 which was quickly called by [Removed:292]. Deeb and the other player got out of the way, taking us to the turn heads-up.

Action checked through on the {6-Diamonds} turn, before [Removed:292] led out for 105,000 on the {q-Spades} river. Carter deliberated for quite some time, before eventually calling and was shown {k-Hearts}{6-Spades} by [Removed:292] for two pair, with that pot adding another 500,000 chips to [Removed:292]'s already towering stack.
