Weissman Picks Off Chock

Nível 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Joey Weissman opened to 1,200 in the cutoff and called a three-bet to 4,000 from Justin Chock in the big blind. Check-check on the {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and the {j-Clubs} hit the turn. Weissman called a bet of 3,500 and the river {k-Spades} paired the board. Chock bet 7,000 this time and Weissman tanked a couple of minutes before calling.

Chock showed {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for an airball and Weissman took it with {q-}{j-}.

Capps and Engel Take Seats

Nível 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Jesse Capps and Aussie Millions champ Ari Engel entered the tournament.

Capps got off to a running start, three-betting to 3,100 from the button on one of his first hands, and seeing an opponent who opened to 1,100 in middle position call. Capps bet 2,100 on the {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop when checked to, and his opponent called. The {k-Spades} and {a-Diamonds} both got checked through and Capps won with {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Clinkscales Busted

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Rex Clinkscales put in his last 5,000 or so from late position after a player two to his right opened, and his {a-}{3-} was a bit ahead of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. A king on the flop put an end to that and Clinkscales went bust after failing to hit on the turn or river.

Players are on break for 10 more minutes.

Queens Good for Loosli

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Sylvain Loosli called what looked like a three-bet from Michael Rocco and the two saw an {8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. Loosli check-called 3,500 and both checked the {j-Clubs} and {7-Diamonds}. Loosli flipped over queens and took the pot.

Updated Chip Counts

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

"You Know I'm a Calling Station, Right?"

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

We found Nick Yunis checking under the gun on a completed board of {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Robert Schulz moved in on the button to put Yunis at risk for 13,850.

"You know I'm a calling station, right?" the Chilean said after thinking a bit. "I'm going to go against my gut."

He mucked, preserving his remaining chips.

At another table, former November Niner Sylvain Loosli took a seat.

Eveslage Crushing

Nível 5 : 150/300, 50 ante
Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

Chad Eveslage checked from the big blind on a {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades} board and an opponent in early position bet 3,600. Eveslage made it 11,000 and his opponent jammed for about 21,000. Eveslage snapped with {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the nuts but he had cards to fade as his opponent had a set of nines. The {6-Clubs} river was a blank.

The next hand, there was an open to 750 from Joey Weissman and a call from Duwayne Kosi. Eveslage made it 3,500 and both opponents called. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Eveslage checked. Weissman did likewise and Kosi bet 8,100. Eveslage was the only caller, and he check-called another 15,600 on the {3-Spades} turn. Check-check on the {9-Diamonds}, and Eveslage revealed {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} that his opponent couldn't beat.
