Shcherbakov Puts the Pressure On

Nível 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Kirill Shcherbakov
Kirill Shcherbakov

Kirill Shcherbakov is absolutely relentless when he plays a pot and just turned up the aggression a few notches in a hand against Atanas Malinov.

Malinov had opened from the cutoff to 200,000 and Shcherbakov three-bet to 700,000 from the big blind. Malinov called to see a flop of [3cahd], where Shcherbakov bet 200,000 and Malinov called.

An 8 on the turn saw another bet from Shcherbakov, this time for 550,000. Once again, Malinov called.

When the 2 landed on the river, Shcherbakov committed his stack to the pot and Malinov, with around 1,300,000 behind, went into the tank. After using some extra time, Malinov elected to fold, and Shcherbakov took the pot.

"You like to put on the pressure, huh?" joked Johnny Lodden to Shcherbakov, who responded with a smile.

Merijn van Rooij limped in from the small blind and Dmitry Kataev shoved for roughly 900,000 from the big blind. Van Rooij instantly called to put Kataev at risk.

Dmitry Kataev: AJ All in
Merijn van Rooij: KK

Van Rooij's plan to limp in with kings had worked perfectly, as he had Kataev crushed. However, Kataev did have an overcard to Van Rooij's big pair. A clean runout of 1054J7 came out though for Van Rooij's Cowboys, and Kataev was out in eleventh.

Simas Karaliunas: QQ All in

A brutal cooler looked likely to be end for Karaliunas if he couldn't find a queen on the runout. The board came 5K3K4 which meant and all of Karaliunas' chips were sent over to Lodden.

Axel Halley Eliminated in 13th Place ($16,170)

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Axel Hallay
Axel Hallay

The action folded around to Axel Hallay in the small blind, who had his stack of around 600,000 in the middle and was put at risk by Simas Karaliunas in the big blind.

Axel Hallay: A3 All in
Simas Karaliunas: A10

Hallay was behind but not for long as he spiked two pair on the A34 flop to take the lead. Though he had a lot of outs to dodge as the Q turn gave Karaliunas a better flush draw, counterfeit outs, two pair outs, and chop outs! One of those came in on the river as the 9 gave Karaliunas a flush, sending Hallay to the rail in unlucky number 13th.

After an early position raise to 160,000 and a call from Kirill Shcherbakov on the button, Maxime Chilaud squeezed all in for roughly 750,000 from the big blind. The initial opened folded, but Shcherbakov called to put Chilaud at risk.

Maxime Chilaud: A9 All in
Kirill Shcherbakov: 55
