Christoforou Knocks Off Ponakovs

Nível 18 : 3,500/7,000, 850 ante

Andreas Christoforou opened to 15,400 from early position and action folded to Aleks Ponakovs on the button, who shoved for his remaining 94,800. Action folded back to Christoforou, who made the call.

Christoforou: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Ponakovs: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Ponakovs was in trouble heading into the flop, which came {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, pairing him and putting him into the lead.

The {6-Hearts} changed nothing, but the {q-Hearts} river paired Christoforou's queen and eliminated Ponakovs.

The Big Dogs on Break

Nível 18 : 3,500/7,000, 850 ante

Here are the top 10 chip counts while players take a quick five-minute break.

Badziakouski Doubles Through Vieira

Nível 18 : 3,500/7,000, 850 ante

Action folded to the button, where Mikita Badziakouski opened for 14,000. Joao Vieira 3-bet shipped his stack from the small blind, which was enough to put Badziakouski at risk for his last 196,922. Aleksejs Ponakovs folded from the big and Badziakouski called.

Badziakouski: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Vieira: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

It turned out to be an ill-timed shove from Vieira, who received no help on the {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} runout and was forced to double Badziakouski up.

Haxton Knocks Out Two; Assumes Chip Lead

Nível 17 : 3,250/6,500, 800 ante

Shawn Daniels opened to 13,000 first to act and action folded around to a short-stacked "MarathonOG", who went all-in for their 31,128 from the small blind. Isaac Haxton used up some of his timebank in the big blind and re-raised to 49,256. Daniels responded by shoving for 584,276. Haxton had him covered and made the call.

Haxton: {q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Daniels: {k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
"MarathonOG": {10-Clubs}{a-Spades}

All three players held an ace, with Daniels in the lead (having both his opponents dominated).

The {3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop put "MarathonOG" in the lead with a pair of tens, but the {9-Diamonds} turn gave Haxton outs to a flush.

The river completed the board with a {7-Diamonds} in dramatic fashion — giving Haxton the flush and awarding him the enormous pot.

Haxton is our new tournament chip leader.

Filatov Fades Benitez to Survive

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

Francisco Benitez opened from the button to 12,000 and was met with a 3-bet shove to 104,958 by Anatoly Filatov. The blinds folded and Benitez called.

Benitez: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Filatov: {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, giving Benitez a whopping 18 outs to improve with any king, jack, ten, or diamond.

The {3-Clubs} turn and {a-Spades} river bricked out for Benitez and gave Filatov two pair for the winning hand and double up.
